I think the ability to message people is pretty critical too.

For instance, I like your articles and your comments I've found elsewhere. It'd be great to connect and network once I've got stuff going.

But there's nowhere to say that outside of comment which greatly reduces the ability to organize, build networks, or community.

That leaves things to bots, people who are already connected, and peeps with an amazing memory capable of remembering all these code names.
