What are some ways people use multiple accounts?
Hey everyone,
I'm writing this from my phone, so it's just going to be a quick note without all of the bells and whistles. But I wanted to ask the community about different ways that people use multiple accounts on here.
The reason I'm asking is that I first started this account to explore the platform. Now that I'm becoming more involved as a user, I'm thinking that it would make sense to create separate channels that focus on specific niches I am passionate about, i.e., journalism, blockchain/cryptocurrencies, photography, music, etc.
One of the reasons for doing this is to focus the feeds of my particular interests, since it doesn't look like there's really a good way to filter through who I am following. The other is to focus the output of each particular channel. A comment that I saw in the 'steemSTEM' Steemit.chat channel yesterday (I think it was that one) mentioned that as Steem and Steemit gain in popularity, niche channels will likely do better as people will look for focused content.
Would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
As always, thank you for reading.

Its complicated. Having a niche will likely be a positive thing when people are following for specific content, however having a bunch of accounts can also be seen as an attempt to "milk the system." And could turn out very poorly for you, depending on how people feel about it.
I think you're right. If someone does it, it can't be seen as trying to "milk the system," but rather as something that adds value. It takes so much energy to create a worthwhile post in the first place, so even the idea of creating a bunch of solid niche accounts already sounds exhausting to me. And I have mixed feelings about bots (it depends on the account, probably), and I am no fan of the spam accounts that populate this site.
Also, thank you for commenting @justtryme90. I think it was actually your comment in the steemstem steemit.chat channel that I was thinking of. :)
This is my view on things as well.
In the end, it's all just very complicated. I personally would recommend you focus on one account and pick something you are interested in and really pour your energy into perfecting that blog. If you achieve that (or get it to a state you are truly pleased with) then perhaps branch out into a second. Ideally the focus should be on a quality product that people really WANT to read and follow.
Quality over quantity.
In order to hopefully put this in front of more eyes, I self-upvoted and promoted this post. I'm also noticing that steemSTEM was added as a tag, although that I didn't add it when I published the post. Does that happen automatically if you reference a tag as a hashtag in the body of the post?
Okay, so I think that if you use a hashtag in the body of a post, it automatically populates as a tag. And so I am editing the body of the post to delete the hashtag so I can remove the extraneous tag.
Yes, that worked. Good to know for future reference.
