Tbh, I was actually surprised that the first SMT announcement would be another social network, given that the way that @ned initially sold the idea, it sounded like the SMT's were primarily for something like a crypto-based Disqus. If the SMT's are going to allow for the development of more Steem-backed social networks like that can compete with Big Tech, then this could be very interesting and I am excited to see where this goes. I'm especially excited to see that the founding team consists of several prominent Steemit users. That gives me confidence APPICS will head in the right direction.
