To upvote or not to upvote?
I'm curious as to how particular people are about upvoting?
Do you not give it much thought and just click away?
Or do you only click new content that you think will get a lot of attention?
Or do you only click what you genuinely think is interesting?
Or do you click posts that you morally agree with? Like barracking for an opinion you already have.
Well, the most my upvotes can possibly give me, even on the very best content (I upvote when it has under 5$ at 15 min and it goes to 3000$+) is a couple tenths of a cent. So it really doesn't matter what I upvote.
I upvote after I comment to get the author (or others) to reciprocate.
Agreed. Upvote only give good money if you are a whale. The best is to comment a meke new posts.
I vote on what I find interesting, regardless of time since post, reputation of poster, whether I agree or not, or whether I think the post will be a 'big one'. Lots of posts deserve positive feedback even if they're not going to get whaled on.
There is a good article about curator rewards https://steemit.com/steem-help/@liberosist/mind-your-votes-an-investigation-and-guide-to-maximizing-your-curation-rewards
However unless your SP is lover than 10000+ that would be pennies anyway, so mostly I just vote for people and content I like to have around, sort of trying to create a good environment for me.
Even if my upvote is worth less than $0.01 , it helps to make a post to be on Active page that gives more chance for it to be noticed . Comments are working the same way.
Besides your upvote encrease Reputation of account you upvote.
That was a seriously good guide
I generally go for what I think "deserves" an upvote. Where I keep figuring out new criteria for that, as I move around the site.
Circlejerking, is not what I really want to do though. I want originaility, so have I seen it before, I'll steer clear. (Though, if it's formulated in a better way, I might support it.)
