The original point of social media was to connect people who couldn't connect before. A few people were able to become rich off of it. Let's break down what they did. They created a product that everyone could use for free to connect people around the world to share information. Steem allows those people to make money off of it. The question remains will content remain genuine or just for the money?
Content will remain a popularity contest. Quality posts will continue to be remunerated and theoretically, adding in revenue that is shared across users means a wider distribution of Steempower so more people with more SP to vote with.
