Corps work hand in hand with gov't to close the door to competition. One cannot simply purchase land and make a business.
Codes. Permits. Licenses. Government approval. Sanction. These are what allows a corporation to flourish. And obviously, much too large to fail.

The "free market" rarely picks the winners and losers. "Cronyism and lobbyist" not "Product or service". Consumer vs customer. A consumer WILL consume. A customer may or may not buy. Compulsion is replacing compelling. Much like most government entities.
The free market in this current incarnation of Earth is as regulated like an East German brothel. Friend's of the State gets the best nookie!

Corporations don't actually exist save for on paper. There isn't an owner who is culpable to liability for any wrong-doings or company wide miss steps. There is a titular head that runs the staff of bureaucrats. Much like government.
And like government zero accountability.

The free market. A true free market would not allow for monopolies. For two reasons. Greed and competition.
Five car companies. One buys three. The last guy will never sell because the first just bought his competition.
Plus there isn't a law(or wouldn't be in a free market) that would kill independent entrepreneur's ability to compete.

Labor unions?
In a free market. Those that "labour" would be able to quit an unscrupulous employer. And open a competing business. They already know how to run it and they'd have the numbers to fund it's start up.

In these days of incredible tech and access to knowledge. I think the world needs to grow up a little and try a lil Anarcho-Capitalism.
