Kashmir 5th February Solidarity Day
Kashmir solidarity day is a public holiday in Pakistan on 5th February each year. This day shows the Pakistan's support to Indian Occupied Kashmir. Pakistan pays tribute to kashmiri people on their sacrifices that they are paying in Indian occupied Kashmir for their freedom. Public holiday on 5th of February started from 1944. It serves as a reminder of the bitter realities and fumble of the partition process.
WH Auden, a 20th century poet described the mishandlings in his poem Partition. To quote from the stanza:
The maps at his disposal were out of date
The census returns almost certainly incorrect
This non-authoritative partition of Kashmir undoubtedly goes back to the Radcliffe Award. Kashmir a land of heaven both India and Pakistan wanted to conquer it
Many plans have been proposed as a solution to the problem in the past but all are inclusion
With continued violence of human rights in Kashmir, the Modi government has started an initiative aimed at forging Indian identity for Kashmiris.
At the end the only words from Kashmiri People are We want Freedom We want Freedom. But no one pay heed them.
