WELCOME TO MY WORLD - A little bit of me in 10 Questions...
A little while ago I was nominated for a bloggers recognition award. I had quite a lot of fun answering the questions given to me and I thought I would share them with my Steemit family - seeing as we are all getting to know one another here :) it is always so rewarding to be picked for any kind of nomination because no matter which one it is - it is a recognition for the efforts of your passion!
IF YOU COULD BE ANY ANIMAL WHICH WOULD YOU BE AND WHY?
Oh that's an easy one! A domestic cat (in a good home... obviously!) They get all the freedom of a wild animal and all the luxuries of "Le good life". I love their mystery too... Cats definitely have that "sixth sense" - I often wonder what sights our two cats see when they are out and about on their daily and nightly journeys... Let me give my feline masters a brief photo intro...
Meet Kaya, the eldest of the two - in cat years, he is 119 years old. He is the "aristoCAT" - very distinguished, particular and needless to say, rather grumpy in his old age... but we love him all the same - He is, after all, our "Alpha".

Yes, even my cat has a fidget spinner...lol He needs something to pass the time you know... :)
Meet Holly (she had her name when we got her, so it didn't feel right to change it) and nevertheless, it has ended up suiting her so well as she is a real little roamer and nonsense! Holly is 7 years old in cat years. She was adopted from the SPCA animal home. For those of you that are not South African, you will need a little education in order to understand her nickname(s)... the most prominent being "Holly Skollie" (Skollie is a local term for a hooligan - normally related to gang members). Other terms of endearment include "holly holly Ha" (as in the old "holly holly hoxie" call out for when in trouble) and there are many more for this adorable little monster...

Now if that look doesnt say "street smarts", then I dont know what does! lol
WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRAVEL?
Um... ANYWHERE would be good! haha! - Believe it or not, at the age of 37, I have only ever been on an airplane once... oh - except for that one time I flew a plane! Yeah baby - YEAH!!!

Focus Jayne... FOCUS! - OK... If I were to choose one place to travel to it would probably be Indonesia, I mean Seychelles, no wait - Italy! .... Hang on, no... GREECE! Alrighty... I will just fly on to the next question shall I...
WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU WANT TO DO BEFORE YOU DIE
This might not be the most conventional answer... but hey, I am not really one to conform at the best of times...
I want to LIVE before I die! I want to GROW as a soul! I want to help other souls GROW!
(I am not sure I have a pic for this one.... hmmmm.... (no cant do that Jayne... it wont be balanced....) - If I were to choose a pic to illustrate the above, this would be it...

IF YOU COULD RECOMMEND ONE BOOK TO PEOPLE, WHICH WOULD IT BE?
That is a "no brainer" for me... The Power of Intention by Dr Wayne W Dyer. It changed my life. The end!

WHAT DO YOU FEEL MOST PROUD OF?
This one is close to the bone and heart. Without question, it would be - the fact that despite the MANY people that told me I would amount to nothing in life and the things and circumstances I was exposed to (and exposed myself to), I am A) still alive, have B) achieved more than most of those other so called "A students" and C) still have an open heart in tact - with passion to boot!

IF YOU HAD A CHANCE TO DO ANYTHING DIFFERENTLY IN LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Absolutely nothing! - I am precisely who I am and exactly where I should be in my life, because of every - single - thing I have experienced and every - single - person I have crossed paths with.

IF YOU COULD ONLY HAVE 5 POSSESSIONS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
So this is the part where I get (somewhat) shallow... haha!
A case of Red wine • My phone • A modem of whatever sort • Food (any carb will do... ok I actually don't eat them anymore, but hey... this is a survival question right?!) and last but not least... (and I know he isn't a possession.. but ya whatever! lol) my son! Nothing in my life would be complete without his presence.
WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST FEAR?
Real fear: Failure. Trivial Fear: Heights (and yes, I still flew a plane. lol)
OK Jayne you need a pic for this one... nah... NO you don't because we don't pay any attention to fears... we CONQUER them! In the words of my son and the Ninja Turtles... "Booyakasha!"
MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT?
This one still stands as a joke between my man and I, lol... it was when my mom walked in on us... you know... "knitting" 'n stuff! haha!
And to make it worse, my mom and I were busy having a fight! - AAAAAKWARD!!!!
We will leave the visuals out of this one ENTIRELY me thinks! lol
HOW WOULD YOUR BEST FRIEND DESCRIBE YOU?
I have friends, old and new, dear and "not so much" but I think I am past the age of "best friends". If I were to give the title of best friend to any one person - it would be my mom! She has literally traveled with me through EVERYTHING in my life. She knows ALL my secrets and (here's a shocker) she still loves me!
To be quite frank, I think most people would describe me in the same manner... LOUD, OPINIONATED and I don't take CRAP. lol! Those that know me well, might also say that whilst I have a tough exterior, I actually have a really good heart... (I like to believe so anyway...) I will have to entice my oldest and dearest friend to comment on this, because she is not a lover of social media, so not often seen online...
Meet Lyn - MY oldest friend and the one person, aside from my mother that knows me better than anybody else!
Well that's a wrap :) Now you now... hehehe - I would LOVE to hear more about all of you!!!
Until next time...
Much Love from Cape Town, South Africa xxx

@jaynie, I freakin love your posts! You and I are so very similar is personality and how we "choose" to run our own lives. You are an amazing writer/blogger/communicator . . . etc. I was also told I would never amount to anything and that I was stupid, I should be on drugs, and that no one will ever love me. Well, I have a thriving business (working on another one), I'm smarter than most (cause I do my research), I can't stand drugs of any kind (that's why I use doTerra and creating a business with it), I am love and I do love in return (this is my most difficult challenge as I've only perceived love in one fashion but my world consists of people I choose and who choose me. That's LOVE!)
Wow @stephiesawyer that was without question the most beautifully rewarding thing I have read all day! It is always a wonderful feeling to find others that we can "connect" - it helps us to identify and move along in our own path.
It is so sad that others "condemn" people because of their perceptions and I am very happy to hear that you had the strength of character to rise above the things told to you. People have no right to do that to another!!!
It certainly sounds like you have done exceptionally well for yourself in more ways than one. Don't EVER let ANYBODY detour you from that xxx
Thank you again for your VERY generous words. They NEVER go unappreciated!!
xxx
Have you written a book, or do you plan to?
Your Steemit posts reflect your strong writing talent, along with your zest for life and your profession.
I feel privileged to read your thoughtful reflections.
@bizcommunication - that is an enormous compliment, so firstly - THANK YOU!
I have actually considered it, but am very much an "in the current moment" kind of person, so I have found that "short stories" - if you can call them that seem to suit me better. Perhaps one day I will make a compilation of my "short stories" hehehe
Thank you for the AMAZING and very GENEROUS compliment xxx
I applaud and embrace your short stories! That compilation will be terrific.
I never give false compliments or praise, and I say that so you will know how much I admire your writing skill. So conversational and interesting, and well organized.
Professionally I have taught all-day business writing seminars, as a communication consultant. What a model you would be for that class!
Thanks for responding.
I am actually SPEECHLESS right now! (and that does not happen often, let me tell you! lol) I cannot tell you how much what you have said to means! I am not a writer "by trade" - but I have always had a passion for "communication".
Like I have said on several of my posts, despite having a business which supports us financially, I have, for a long time now been discussing with my family and close friends that I would like to help motivate and inspire people.
I have blogged independently and whilst mildly rewarding, I never really got the feeling that I was making any real impact in anyone's lives... then, after much prodding and pushing from my eldest brother to join this platform, I did - and I really feel like I have found my "happy place" lol
I am loving every minute of it and it feels as though the puzzle pieces of my goals are starting to fall into their respective places - and I feel like I am starting to make a difference in other peoples lives, which was and IS the ultimate objective!
So again - thank you! Your feedback and your compliments towards my work REALLY mean a lot to me!!!!
How gracious you are!
Clearly, you have become a "hit" on Steemit. Not only do you write compellingly, your photos add plenty. Yes, you are in your "happy place"!
Chuckled about your "speechless" comment.
Have you produced any videos? If so, let me know so I can watch them.
My techie guru taught me video production years ago, and that became one of the most enjoyable parts of my work, once I overcame the fear of technology that had plagued me during my management days. I have posted many on You Tube, with the most recent ones produced for a weekly video/podcast show I host, "Biz Communication Show."
As for Steemit, hard to believe that one of my mentors steered me in this direction only a couple of weeks ago. I'm fascinated by the opportunities to interact with experts around the world.
Such as the one I am writing to now. . .
Glad we will stay in touch!
Curious as to your 'unfollow' after all your generous comments... @bizcommunication - care to elaborate?
Gads, if I unfollowed that is totally by accident. . .proves how much of a novice I am at this. Will correct it right away.
Thanks, and my apology. . . .
No need to apologise 😏 nor any obligation to follow me, but as a straight talker I had to ask... as it did not add up, especially after all your positive input. 👌😉
This is world-class material.
Straight talk is good stuff, and often necessary to clarify problems.
And you did that so tactfully!
Pls let me know any time I make a goof that you spot.
lol ;)
Corrected that, hope you see that of course I continue to follow you now.
Every day I prove that communication professionals make mistakes!
That was mine for today. . .
hahaha we ALL make mistakes.... :)
Hearty Amen to that!
:)
Jaynie, Jaynie, Jaynie, Jaynie...my favorite part of this is the part where you mention you wouldn't change anything because it makes it who you are. @michaeldavid wrote a post the other day about acceptance and how you have the whole world in your hands. Makers and creators. And it's true, once a person realizes they are where and who they are because of themselves, a whole new world opens up to them. Good one girl.
Well written.I love the way you describe.
I have follow and upvote you.hope that you will do the same.
Thank you.
Thank you so much :)
As always thoroughly enjoy reading your posts
Thank you honey xxx Always love seeing your name pop up :)
Thank you - right back at you
MWAH! :)
Very Nice. You sound very real. 🙃
I would like to believe I am :) Thank you @john-gpr
upvoted @jero1

Brilliant post, great life story - like it, following you now.
Thank you for the lovely feedback and positivity :)
Great and interesting reading 😊 cool question
and great answers. Thank you for sharing it was a pleasure to read. Have a great weekend
Thank you :)
What a great post! I think as a human race, we should all take more time to reflect on things like this to not only understand ourselves better while living such a high paced life, but it's also a form or therapy for the not so good things as well!
Cheers
Thank you so much for the lovely feedback @christheaudioguy and I absolutely agree!!!!
