The Reasons why Some Newbies Fail to Grow in Steemit Platform.steemCreated with Sketch.

I have not failed, I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. - Thomas Edison

Hi Everyone.

This topic is a very alarming concern addressed to everybody. Given the fact that our community here grows little by little, but others seem to pull-out from the platform. I think of the ways why they did part ways from the platform, and was able to realize these things :

  • Steemit is not "Easy-breezy" to get money.

Yes, Steemit is an incentivized social media platform - but you need to put sweat on it. Earning in Steemit is difficult to earn - AT FIRST. Understanding the basics and how the platform works must be your first assignment on how to caught their upvotes. Our users here have the power to upvote post they like, and remember that content is Steemit's brand. Post article that are informative, well written, and with proper markdown techniques.

Understand that on your first weeks in Steemit, most of the users are not earning much. But the moment they get recognized and they continue the momentum. I assure you, the growth will rise as x to the power of something.

  • They Struggle to find Good Content

Creating a good content is so hard to make. A content that the community mostly like, which will make them get more upvotes. In return it made them more challenging, and ended thinking the site is difficult to make money. Everybody must understand that Steemit is not a site for earning money, its about learning from user's contents, making friends and interacting with them, and most especially building a network. In Steemit you can redefine yourself, express your feelings, harness your talent, and share some important information to others. This is the thing they miss, because what's embedded on their minds are earnings. Steemit only offer that kind of feature!

  • They see the Biased System

Some newbies see shitty post getting $300 / $200 per post, when in fact their content made was far away better than it. This is a part of Steemit's negative side. But they have to understand that its because of the people's power. That post made big because someone upvoted it, and that he invested his stake for a high Steem Power. I understand that there are some users who abuse that, but we can't blame them. They have their own will to which post they wanted to upvote, and they invested in Steemit!

My advice is to ignore it. Focus on your personal growth. As much as possible, look on trending lines. Learn how they create those hundred-dollar post and apply it next time on your blogs. Check the way they post tags, the way they beautify their contents using markdown, where to place the pictures, and the time they are posting the content. Don't dwell on the negative side of Steemit, instead twist your mind and see the beauty of the platform. I say to you, THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING PLATFORM I EVER MET!.

  • The Platform Seems to be Technical

There are some users who just wanted to be involved in the platform itself. They simply hate technicals, STEEM, STEEM DOLLARS, STEEM POWER, which they can't escape its relation to crypto. To be honest, this is one of the main reasons why some of our invited users here quit the platform. They face difficulties in understanding it, they had asked and I provided some help. The real problem is how they explore these terms.

My advice to newbies is read at least a couple of pages of STEEM Whitepaper. It will help you understand the how the platform works, and how do these tokens influence the blogging platform.

Thanks for reading!

Thank you @jassennessaj for this information. At first I was sad having a little feedback.Reading out your article I just changed my mind to continue writing. Hope you will be with us always like this.
Thanks again.

Great post i must say. I really applaud the effort you put to come up with all the issues newbees encounter here on steemit.

I understand steemit is a process, not a get rich fast platform. And thanks to the likes of @surpassinggoogle for motivating minnows

the fact that they are not so open-minded maybe is one of the factor, you are on point here, I second your article, RS this! <3

Aweee thank you @fernwehninja! Close-mindedness is also a main factor. Thank you for bringing it up. 😊

Good blog, bro. These are all things I will be covering it the convention. Hopefully by then, Filipinos will trust me a bit more, and let me speak to them candidly.

Reinvesting on Steemit, is reinvesting in yourself. The only people to ever be successful on Steemit, are those that understand that they need to let their accounts grow, in order to attract bigger fish.

In return, they will have better blog writing techniques, since they know their audience has the power to make, or break them.

Great blog post, and keep on churning!

Rob

You're exactly right! Aside from the things mentioned above, one of the things our whales are looking into are your contribution to the community.

That will be awesome! I'll do my best to attend and help you setting it up. @steemph.cebu is committed to help you in all aspects. Thank you for doing extreme efforts for Cebu!

Well, one thing I could use help with...is getting @surpassinggoogle down here. I will pay for his flight, hotel, and food... Just would like to meet him, and have him speak about his experience with steemit. He has a lot of knowledge, and would be a great motivator :)

Rob

Gotcha. Good luck and God speed to your individual effort dude.

Success Lies in Seeing Failure as a Tool

Just as all the greats have something in common, so too do the true “failures” of life: their inability to use failure as a tool. When you feel that sinking, desperate sensation known as failure and you take it to heart, you diminish yourself. You give your power away to an external event. Success is about learning how to recognize why you failed, and how you’re going to compensate for it.

I find it helpful to ask myself the following questions upon failures, big and small.

What brought about the failure?
How much of it is in my realm of influence?
How can I use my influence to turn failure into success?
What steps do I need to go through to try again?
What can I do every day to ensure that my next try is done more intelligently?

I couldn't agree more with your well written piece. It definitely takes a good bit of grinding to get noticed and start to gain traction on this platform. If you can afford to invest in the platform at all, I believe, it has a positive impact overall. It's helps you earn better in curation but also, people notice your vote when it has some weight behind it. Well done my friend!

Exactly. Thank you for appreciating this blog @sixersfeds. 😊

So inspiring. Thanks a lot

I'm starting to dislike the bots and the self upvoting rewarding mechanic, since high sp users just make zero content posts, self upvote and basicly making themselves richer. This is wrong, the system should reward content and not just the people with big steem accounts rewarding themselves .

This is a matter that is sometimes saddening to hear. But I believe with time, everything will be near perfect.

What is rewarded is value and content is just of the things that add value and there are a ton of other things

There is also steem and steemit, which are two different things. On steemit the main activities is content and curation perhaps but there is also the open source blockchain that is something very different and incentivizes other things

Everyone is welcome to do anything in Steemit. Some bots are for business, and the Steem company itself is a business. You need to dwell on it, maybe instead take advantage 😊

What is rewarded is value and content is just of the things that add value and there are a ton of other things

great article.... keep on steeming! :} upVoted

This is a very wonderful and educative post.
It'll go a long way in helping the minnows to grow and learn one or two things about steemit.

To all the minnows, don't be deterred. This is a wonderful platform, so just keep following everything up diligently and with time, you'll be glad you joined steemit.

Happy Steeming

Exactly, those were things I noticed from some members that we have here.
