J1s Beginners Checklist to Steemit and Cryptos

I have decided to write a very basic checklist on starting with Steemit and Cryptos

I realize they are so many Guides out there its hard to compete, so I am just going to do a few basic tables to allow people to see the basics and research each one as they wish.

I have decided to keep my links within Steemit as so much useful information and resources on here.

Lets start with the Slang

Word:	Meaning:
Whale	Someone who holds a lot of value.
Fiat	Standard Money such as the USD or GBP.
Steemian	A person using steemit such as you or I.
HODL	Hold on for dear life (DO NOT SELL).
SBD	Steem Backed Dollar
Newb/N00B	Someone pretty new to the community
FUD	Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt this is when someone disagrees and criticizes your post.
TL;DR	Too long don't read

Things to do when you start both:

Steemit:	Cryptos:
Read the FAQS https://steemit.com/faq.html	Consider getting an hardware wallet.
introduceyouself #introduceyourself	Research a currency of your choice a lot can be found at #cryptocurrency
Spend time exploring.	Read the #crypto-news sections to keep up with the latest.
Upvote posts you really like.	Read reviews about the online wallets and Exchanges.
Comment on posts.	Read up on protecting any coins.
Resteem posts.	Only invest what you can afford to loose.
Make sure you understand the difference between SBD, Steem and Steem Power https://steemit.com/faq.html	Make sure you understand cryptos and have fun :)

Some of the exchanges which accept Steem and other Cryptos:
Bittrex, Poloniex, Tidex, Hitbtc

This is a very basic thought process you should be doing, Obviously looking into the things above will lead you down a rabbit hole of exciting things.
