Feeling a lag, a timeout with Steemit? Something is wrong? I can tell you why..

Its true.  Sometimes when you click a button on steemit, it doesn't work, this is the reason.

Steemit, in a matter of days has become the rage.  We have thousands of users signing up, posting, sharing it with friends and family.  Googlebot sees new content, it is scraping it as fast as it can to get it into the index. (..and so is bing, and every other search engine spider)

EVERYTHING IS NUTS RIGHT NOW AND SYSTEMS ARE OVERLOADED. :)

That is a good thing... it's good, because while you read my words, it means you are in the right place at the right time. Something new is happening on the internet, and the internet doesn't know how to deal with it quite yet.

What does that mean?

It means steem and steemit are viral now.  They didn't expect it to take off quite so quickly, but it has, and it will continue to so..

So when you get a pause, a wait symbol, a circle spinning. Don't worry. That's the system just trying to deal with the avalanche of popularity that is happening right now.

The worst thing you can do is add to the problem by pushing reload-refresh-reload-refresh non-stop.

If you want to make a new post, and the system isn't responding, then wait 5 full minutes before trying again. You are more likely to get lucky getting it submitted after waiting than you are by constantly refreshing and resubmitting.

SECRET: ..because that what most people do... when server loads are high, they reload/refresh/resubmit non-stop too.. and after about 5 minutes, people finally relax, and stop doing that...  If you were the one to wait 5 minutes, you're probably get into that window where your submission now works.
