What I think is Wrong in Steemit (or not!)
I know I'm a nobody in crypto, so how am I to say anything about steemit and the community itself?
Well, at first i came across steem (and steemit as result) through some comments about another content related crypto, Lybrary Credits (LBC), and it felt to me like people supporting LBC was a little against steem, and I needed to see what was it all about and a fell in love instantly by the concept. I really think that a crytocurrency needs something other than simply mining to keep its value on the long run.
When I realized that people can actually make money here, by simply posting content, I even questioned how could other main stream networks such as FaceBook even compete, once steemit becomes popular.
However, after a few weeks here, i realized something, and I don't know if it is because the platform itself is not mature itself, or any other reason, It feels like posts are all about the money. Not every post, ofcourse, but there is so much about how to "catch whales" of "how to succeed in steemit" that it looks like a super majority of beggars trying to catch a bone from a super rich entity.
For Steemit to survive and prospoer, even to become the next social network and source of great contant, we need to think about what it is really important, because structure and maturity for the platform itself will come at its time, I know developers are doing their best. We need to evolve as a community. Create great content and forget about whales. Unless this is your day job, any steem dollar that comes from here is just secondary!
I was thinking if i should post this or not and just came across this post:
and it is just what i think! This is a platform where we can express ourselves and create content without worrying about censorship,
FORGET ABOUT WHALES!
I am the plankton here. ( I am not a bot )
I help to motivate people here. I will give you my little token for trying.
The little Plankton
thanks!
Are we to connect OR Compete?
We are always competing in some level, but i think the focus should be connecting!
