It depends on the amount. But boosting your post with more then 100$ in the beginning, means that you are not caring about your curators. They will earn minimal curating awards, so they better do not vote.

Sounds like I might want to let my @qurator tier lapse down to 2 when my lease expires, then. (Not that I could afford the necessary SP delegation to crank it back up under the new rules anyway...)

The timing is important, when voting or boosting later (not at post creation) all voter that voted already, will recieve higher curation awards

Yeah, that makes bid bots like @qustodian more valuable than automatic upvote subscriptions, given you can control the timing of their boosts.
