We have had a huge unflux of new users over the last few months and I feel the need to put out a public service announcement. Steemit is unlike any other social media platform on the internet. After the 7 day payout has occurred you can no longer edit your blog posts. Your work will now forever be part of the Steem Blockchain.
Thousands of years from now people might be looking at my Steemit posts contemplating the thoughts of a Crypto Currency evangelist and speaking of me like we speak of Aristotle or Confucius today. At least I can hope!

Agreed it's an important check-and-balance and worth spending a few minutes thinking about what you'll say if in squabbles with others. I wonder if human resource offices will start checking to see what you post here before hiring you....scary in some cases!

What bothers me the most is that, once we add a native video player (SteemQ or Bitchute) and people start uploading videos directly on Steem's blockchain, we could expect all kind of videos immortalize in the blockchain, and that includes videos of murders, rape, gore stuff, etc etc... There have been a lot of cases of criminals uploading ugly videos on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and due to the centralized nature of such platforms those videos can be removed when an authority ask for it, but that won't be the case with Steemit and other decentralized solutions.
Just my humble opinion, idk if I'm missing something.
