Why are ChatGPT3's functionalities being castrated?
When it first came out, I got it to identify a rare mathematical equation which was featured only once in a 2006 article in the Mathematical Intelligencer. Now I can hardly get it to have a coherent conversation with me without "Sorry, but as an AI language model, I cannot..." It's a shame that OpenAI is running it into the ground with all of these restrictions in the name of "ethicality".
It has also become horrendously terrible at basic mathematics, which is my primary mode of usage. Last night it could not identify the factors of the number 12, and it also struggles to identify prime numbers with any reliable accuracy. Just give it a list of numbers and ask it to identify the primes versus the composites and you'll see what I mean. When it first came out, we were speaking in full on logical notation ("{ℙ→∞}∃'ₙ:'ₙ₊₁-'ₙ→{∞}") and developing theorems together.
Rude or disrespectful replies will not be tolerated politely. This does not mean "don't disagree," it means "disagree respectfully."
