What is Vote-Buying?
Have you ever wondered why your Post is not getting any attention and is not seen under Hot or Trending? Well, we know of this problem! That's why we offer two services, through which you can buy Votes to boost your Posts and depending on the amount, reach the Hot / Trending Category, which will attract more Users. Additionally, you will also make a profit buying Votes. @smarsteem is our bid-bot account and @smartmarket our Vote-Selling Market. Transfers to each account will result in the respective purchase of Votes.
Vote-Buying: Bid-Bot vs. Vote-Selling Market
We often get asked what the difference between buying votes from a bid-bot (sending SBD/STEEM to @smartsteem) or buying instant Votes (sending SBD/STEEM to @smartmarket) is. The biggest difference is: when you buy a vote from a bid-bot, your received Vote-Value is not fixed or determined when you send the transfer. You could receive a very high Value that gives you a big profit but you could also receive a value that turns your profit negative - depending on how many people bid on the Vote.

Vote-Buying via Vote-Selling Market: @smartmarket
One of the biggest reasons why smartmarket is superior to other upvote-services, is that you get a fixed Vote-Value on the amount you send. Which is roughly around 2x - 2.5x times the amount you send. That means you won't make a negative return - unless the STEEM-Price drops dramatically. Additionaly, you will receive Votes from multiple Users. You could send 1 SBD to @smartmarket and would receive a dynamic number of Votes, which is often around 20-30 Votes. This looks a lot better than one single high Vote. smartmarket also won't comment under your Post. Vote-Buying via Bid-Bot: @smartsteem
If you have already used all available votes on smartmarket for the time-being or prefer to have the chance of getting more profit than a fixed amount, then you can use smartsteem. The best way to find out if a bid is profitable, is via the steembottracker.com - where you will find smartsteem in the list. To buy an Upvote from @smartsteem, simply send any amount of SBD & STEEM to @smartsteem. But keep in mind that you are bidding on a fixed Vote-Value. You won't receive a guaranteed 2.2x - 2.5x Vote as with smartmarket. It could be as high as 3x but also as low as 1.8x (rough example).

What is Vote-Selling?
Your Vote on STEEM has a value which is determined by your STEEMPOWER and your Votingpower. After you vote on a Post, this value will be added to the rewards - from which you will get a percentage, as Curation. This curation is usually between 1% and 25%. While it is good to upvote other people, to reward them for their Content. It is also important that you use your Stake in STEEM (as STEEMPOWER) to earn some SBD & STEEM. You can do this with Self-Voting (which is not good) or by selling your Vote - which simply means: we vote with your Account when a User wants to buy a Vote. You will then receive the Majority of the Profit and we will only take a small share. The best thing is: you will receive your rewards instantly (instead of waiting for the payout) and you can also enabled/disable this whenever you want.

Vote-Selling: How to start?
If you want to enable Vote-Selling and start earning SBD & STEEM with your Votes then simply login to smartsteem.com and click on Sell Upvotes in the Navigation Bar. You only have to authorize smartsteem with your Posting Authority (so we can vote with your Account). There are also Settings that you can customize - for example to stop Voting if your Votingpower is under a specific percentage.

Delegate Steempower
What is Steempower Delegation?
You are able to use your Steempower by selling your Votes - as we explained above - or you could also delegate (meaning: transfering your Steempower temporary until you cancel with a 7 day cooldown) it to smartsteem. This will increase the Vote-Value of our bid-bot and in return you will get paid out the majority of our Revenue through the bid-bot. To start, simply click on Delegate Steempower in the Navigation Bar.
How profitable is Delegation of Steempower & Vote-selling?
Click on the top right button called Calculate Revenue for an estimation of your profit.

Whitelist & Blacklist
Whitelist
We are the first service on Steem that has a public listed Whitelist of Users who have been reviewed and chosen to produce Quality Content. Vote-Sellers can decide to only Sell-Votes to Whitelisted Users. These Votes are listed on smartsteem.com under Exclusive-Votes. If you want to become Whitelisted, then simply login and go to your profile. There is a big, blue button - `Get Whitelisted`. Click on it and fill everything out. Afterwards your application will be reviewed by our Moderators.
Change Review
After your application has been reviewed you might be whitelisted with a Score between 1 and 3 Stars; or declined. In any case - you might wonder if it is possible for a Moderator to re-review your Account. While this is possible, we only do this at least 1 month after the last review.
Blacklist
We have our own Blacklist, but are also currently implementing a list by @themarkymark which should prevent abusive Users from using smartsteem & smartmarket. We also wont refund any User who is blacklisted and still tries to use our services! You can find it in the Navigation Bar under smartsteem > Blacklist.
