by the way, steemit is still in beta.. with a very simple user interface...
i think when steemit would come up with a new branded social media platform like facebook then i am sure the price of steem would sky rocket.. may be by the end of this year we would see steem close to 10$ or more..
$10 by the end of this year is very optimistic but not impossible. I'm not that optimistic about cryptos in general. Everyday there are dozens of new coins coming into the market and competition is getting tighter and tighter which will eventually cause big cryptos like bitcoin to crash as they will be replaced by new cryptos... There's already another blockchain-based social media that has come out which will compete with STEEM. I haven't had time to check it out yet but it's on my todo list ;] https://www.ongcoin.io/
