Why People Eat Pizza With Ketchup!?
When I traveled to Asia I noticed that the most people love to eat pizza with Ketchup. A lot of Ketchup! And I found it a bit weird. I used all my life Ketchup only for fries and if it wasnt available, it wasnt really necessary. I love to eat pizza the way it is and enjoy the taste of all ingredients. Tomatoes, vegetables and cheese are the main ingredients I am looking for when I order a pizza. Every mouthful should be spectacular.
Pizza already contains a layer of tomato sauce. A marinara sauce prepared from blending tomatoes with onions, garlic, basil, oregano and other such herbs. Adding Ketchup to the pizza will ruin the nice taste. I dont know if people use ketchup to cover up the real taste of pizza or just because they like to have ketchup in every meal. But in case they use it to cover up, I would ask myself why they order a pizza.
Even when I buy a frozen pizza once in a while, I add other ingredients to it. More mushrooms, green pepper, onion and cheese, to make it moist and pleasantly edible. And how do you like to enjoy your pizza?

I think its all about your taste bud. I live in Canada but I enjoy pizza with and without ketchup.
Well I saw this in Pakistan and India. It is very popular there and ketchup is on top of every pizza. If you visit Pizza hut there, you get Ketchup served along with your pizza.
Must be their thing. I've never seen that done in East Asia. lol

Remember that ketchup is made different around the world - ketchup in the US has a salty vinegar taste, but some places have a sweet or more flavorful ketchup. Like in the Philippines we have banana ketchup that tastes sweeter. In India they use Maggi which people say tastes like bbq sauce and gochujang. Not how I'd prefer my pizza, but maybe I'd try it with anything other than Heinz.
