Forbes Publishes Entire Article on Social Media Blockchain, Forgets Steemit

A Forbes writer composed and supposedly researched an entire article about how the blockchain is reinventing social media. Somehow, the most popular iteration of social media on the blockchain -- Steemit -- was omitted.

Forbes article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/steveolenski/2017/08/09/will-blockchain-reinvent-social-media/#57c400503ec1

I don't normally write posts glorifying Steemit as just using the platform should show what I think of it, but having wasted a few minutes of my life reading this drivel, I thought I'd get a word in. Giving credit where credit is due is important.

How it is possible to research anything about social media + blockchain and not stumble on Steemit is beyond anyone here.

Will the real social media platform please stand up?

Blockchain amps social media up to a whole new level. The very nature of blockchain technology provides a methodology whereby users can have vastly more control over privacy of information, while at the same time, potentially receiving monetary compensation for the viral content they create. Two companies have seen the potential and are leading the way.

^ From the Forbes article

At this point in the article one would assume that the Steem blockchain and Steemit would be highlighted as a pioneering project that had already celebrated a year of active use.

No, instead its first mention goes to Nexus.

Nexus

Nexus is another shitcoin which isn't even out yet. It will have a hyped up presale, like all coins, and will create or at least theoretically create a product that remains to be seen.

The second marvel is Synereo.

Synereo

Also with nothing tangible out at this time.

To be fair to both these initiatives, we'll review their whitepapers and projects in subsequent posts.

Conclusion

Forbes employs complete morons.

Sort:

It is certainly a good sign that blockchain is becoming more mainstream.

Indeed. Soon we'll see the word 'blockchain' being added to everything, kind of how 'hacking' is now. "Let's go blockchain some girls at the bar tonight."

writer pumping obscure coins? who knows, good catch. Let's steem even harder now.

I didn't think of this but possibly.

Forbes employs complete morons.

Tell me how you really feel! Lol. This is a massive omission. Very nice catch.

Couldn't think of anything more to say.

I even tried searching "social media blockchain" on Google and Steem was the second result. The first is the Forbes article. That means when he was researching it, Steem was the top result.

Hmmm. Sounds like the writer may have some bias.

I agree with you conclusion "Forbes employs complete morons" XD

Thanks. Their other content isn't better off either.
