PSA: steemit piece on Coindesk, not particularly flattering

Saw this story this morning: http://www.coindesk.com/steem-provokes-doubt-market-observers/

Is there anyone in the #steemit community who can get in touch with the CoinDesk journalists and provide a more balanced and nuanced response? Looking at the comments, it seems that most crypto people yell "SCAM!" first and ask questions later.

Sort:

They are biased. Coindesk/Coinbase are into ether and can see this as a potential rival. Not that they're the same thing, but it could steal the spotlight if it went above ethereum's marketcap.

Well, that's unfortunate. . . are there any other crypto-dedicated news sites that don't have a horse in the race?

Most people in crypto think that the 700 or so cryptos (altcoins) are scams . . . except Bitcoin, some even call Bitcoin a scam. Ethereum was called a scam for months and it continued to grow. If you are investing in the platform by creating posts then what are you losing? If you are a crypto trader speculating then you know what you are getting into. You may see similar articles as the technology grows.

I'm trying to invest in the steem platform via both STEEM purchase and posting content - I won't wager any more than I'm willing to lose, but don't want to look back in a few years and wish I had invested more.
