Please vote for my variant, I'll distribute my prize to all who will improve it if I win! We are making Crowd Sourcing design of this variant. Read my post for details.
It consists of only 6 circles that you can rotate to get different moods and we can work on guidelines so anyone can easily get new looks of this character, some now we can edit it with no restrictions and get anything like this:

It's a real art to make logo of just arcs of minumum number of circles, here is one great example from my colleague
