This Is The Steemit Conundrum: Lies & Deceit, Tries & Defeats, Red Flags & **** Posts... What Shall We Do? Where Will The Future Take Us Steemians?

in #steemit7 years ago

I was just playing, no lies no deceit but while I have your attention we do have a few things to figure out together if we are to secure the future of this platform.

In order for new members of the platform to compete with the sharks that have been swimming these murky waters for years, it is necessary for one to juice and boost their own posts. That's cool though because through boosters we have those means. The problem is that the content isn't always worth boosting... A true case of Nature Vs. Nurture. For those of us starting out with little money, the story is reminiscent David vs. Goliath.

So what is stopping ****** content from spamming up the webs while noobs

learn how to swim and begin to join the hungry power struggle to the top?
Nothing and there is plenty of it. I myself have a little on my blog. So do you and so does everyone else. It comes with the turf because no one starts blogging by spilling out golden ink on their first few posts. To boot, If you tell someone that's hungry that they can @boost or @Minnowboost or @Randowhale their way up the chain... There gonna! How far each person is willing to take this practice in regards to "Splogging" (Spam-Blogging) for profits, is just a factor of individual moral code and like I said (HUNGRY PEOPLE)

While those hungry people are getting their feet wet, they are probably not going to be superstars 100% of the time. So what are we going to do to keep the b.s. down? The content that Steemit creates really is where it's value is created. With so much new content coming in, it is getting harder to sort. Like muddy water, we need to find a way to sift the dirt out. Maybe a word count bot or something idk, I was hoping you would know actually that's why I wrote this.

I created my account 2 months ago, invested $150 and kinda trolled the waters trying to pick up followers for about a month. When SBD went all ballistic and made those sweet ATH's recently, I decided it was time to get for real about this Steemit business. So did everyone else! Over night I watched my account go from having 0.08 upvote to 0.02.........It was like a reverse Viagra for my ego... I didn't give up though. Simply because I was able to see just what Steemit actually has to offer, an outlet to express my creativity. Personally that in itself is the most valuable part of Steemit.
No matter what happens in the end, a ton of people have literally found themselves on these pages and every bit of that juicy knowledge and art has been loaded to the blockchain. We are writing ourselves into the pages of time one post at a time.

Now while all this is true and sounds like a sunny Spring Sunday, sustainability for the future is a whole other game. I honestly feel that the only way this platform will continue on to thrive is if all the individuals that have "Blossomed here" for lack of a better word, make money with their talents and bring some of that money back to the platform. That is the product. You. I hope we can all come together and support Steemit as a playground for creativity for generations to come.

I love this post! I am new to Steemit and was a bit skeptical at first. I really like your last two paragraphs in this post. No matter what happens with the platform, I am excited to use steemit to find my voice, practice writing, and grow. Steemit providing me an audience to "practice on" is invaluable. :-)

I love your name!!!

I am so glad you enjoyed the post. Yes I agree 100% because it literally does breed creativity at what seems to be an exponential pace. Before I opened my Steemit account I was a fairly depressed individual ready to do whatever I had to do just to put some money in the bank so I could take a breather. Within two months I have written at least 100 million poems and even started learning how to sing a bit. I'm not lil Wayne, maybe a bit of an Outkast but definitally not a star, but idk I feel good making art! I would have never done that before or had the support to do so! In fact I have had the opportunity many times in my life but my ill state had left me in a funk with little self confidence. The result was all kinds of social anxiety and other byproducts left by the emotional stains of depression. Steemit is medicine!

Now I won't say that I have beaten my social anxiety but I put a pretty good woopin on it! Not just me either, all 311 of my followers made sure to kick it in the teeth at least once for me too! Actually I saw @Paulmoon410 make social anxiety bite the curb, it was beautifully gruesome. Now I haven't become rich yet or even gotten to a point where I can begin to power down and pay bills but what I have gained is a sense of self and that is more valuable than anything else in this existence. Enjoy the journey! I'll be following! Good Luck and if you need any help with anything just ask.
