The Longest in US history Government Shutdown, with near 800,000 federal workers missing their payment

in #steemit6 years ago

President Trump announced on Friday January 25th 2019 that he reached a deal with Congress to open the federal government for 3 weeks until February 15th without any of the border wall money.

Yet, President Trump added that there's no choice but to build a powerful wall and that if a fair deal is not reached by February 15th, the government will either shut down again or he will use his powers to address the security emergency.

Friday marked the 35th day of a partial government shutdown, the longest in US history, with near 800,000 federal workers missing their payment, due to a lack of agreement over President’s demand for $5.7 billion to build a wall along the US-Mexico border.
