The curious case of null
Have you ever wondered what happens when you promote some content (Either yours or others).
I did when I promoted by first blog post https://steemit.com/steem/@gokulnk/is-approvals-steems-achilles-heel
You can find the answer From the FAQ page
"Steem Dollars spent to promote a post are paid to the account @null, which nobody owns or controls. Once a user transfers SBD to @null, the Steem blockchain removes them from the currency supply."
I am trying to see if we can get a handle on what is the total amount spent in promotions on steemit till now. I am unable to find as steemit doesn't have a blockexplorer like other currencies. It would be great to see what this number is as it is a cursor to the confidence people have in the platform.
Though he wont't know anything about it you can still follow null at https://steemit.com/@null
https://steemdb.com/@null/transfers
Thanks for the link. So from the graph number of people promoting their posts is going up again(second cycle). Do you know if there is a way to find out the total amount transferred to this account till now?
Before I was not interested, but if you can see the whole chain, then you can find a way to calculate anything ..!
No entiendo! me explican, yo también tengo una transferencia a esta cuenta. Porque?
