Is Steemit Dying?
This is a question that has resurfaced multiple times in the past and unfortunately has shown up recently quite often.
Coming from the perspective of a Steemit user that has witnessed the ups and downs around this platform...
No, Not at all!
Steemit is Thriving!
Sure, all the spam and reward hungry users are dying off... (Still could die faster IMO)
And there certainly are problems -
But compared to last year...
My votes with 1/3 the SteemPower are actually worth something. 2500 SP last November gave a $0.00 upvote.
Steem is 8-10x greater value in $USD
Steem v.s. BTC is actually trading in the same range
No, Not Dying... Consolidating!
It's time to plan ahead
When payouts are smaller, people post less. When the Steem price is worth less in $usd, your posts pay more Steem per dollar.
This time last year, a $10 payout gave around 100 Steem!
Where during the recent peak, that's well over $100
Treat Steemit as an investment
It's time to stack up the Steempower and now is the best time to become noticed!
The people invested or long time users are the ones who will stick around. Large SP accounts are not going to leave and they are going to need people to vote on...
You could become the next trending champion!
Yes, anything can happen around here and now is the opportunity to do something about it
and remember...
When this downtrend ends, alt-coins will explode... and so will Steemit

I am glad that someone who has been here for a while comes out and say this. Even though I haven't been on Steemit too long I don't feel any panic. Steemit and the action with posting etc is like you say of very close resemblance to that of the cryptomarket Trading. So when it's low people post less etc. In my opinion now is the time too be the most active because it's when buying low you actually end up earning money. Like Warren buffet says:
"Be Fearful When Others Are Greedy and Greedy When Others Are Fearful"
I like that quote and use it often on the crypto markets.
I just think about what it was like last year. Its different but basically the same. Except steemit has more features now and blockchain upgrades.
Ongoing development will keep the marketcap going up. In fact, alts are making a rebound move right now. Could be a good time to buy sp
