Steemit--will it link all the things? (Discussion topic)
If we assume that the world is moving further along the road to zero-marginal-costs, will Steemit provide a new work-base for content providers?
*I'll define content providers as creative workforce (musicians, artists, writers, directors, developers, comedians, memesters, ect.). Anyone that has previously relied on managers to arrange the distribution of their content.
Considering that the blockchain can be used for all sorts of content and the UI is promised to be open source meaning adaptations with different target markets will be easy, it is quite possible that the reach will be much broader than just blog posts.
I would assume BIO pages (for artist and others) will be a great way to reward new and existing content--as well as rewarding viral moments.
Creative workforce ... can be expanded past just entertainment ... anyone doing 'mind' labor can now shed their managerial heads.
I have definitely already seen people post music and other forms of their artistic talents. So it's not crazy to say Steemit 'could' even replace the need for any sort of managers and artists could obtain maximum profits.
Absolutely. And I'm excited over this new paradigm. This will definitely enable those who have long been marginalized (artistic creators) to have the chance to live fulfilling lives and be fairly compensated for their creative work.
