Change... How would you like to see steemit change?

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

With all the changes so recently with steemit, what do you think they could do to make the use better? Is there anything that you would add or take away. What do you think of the visual changes they have made?

Disclaimer, I in no way work for Steemit and can not change anything. I was just wondering on peoples thoughts....

They would need to make it as accessible and user friendly as mainstream social media networks whilst simultaneously delivering its values well.

The current selection of apps available for Steemit does not compare to those offered by Facebook, Twitter, Reddit or even blogging platforms like Medium and Tumblr. A good app would be a serious gamechanger.

There's also not enough people on here creating serious content to justify Steemit's existence. Many third-world piece of shit users treating Steemit like a place to dump pieces of work that resemble a third-grader's homework assignment; all in the hope of earning just a few cents. We need to deter those kinds of users in the hope of a forming a community built upon the foundations of higher quality users that can actually string a fucking sentence together.

Plagiarism also needs to be taken more seriously. While it is not really possible to ban people or remove plagiarised content due to the blockchain (I think); I Steemit should proactively report instances of plagiarism to the copyright holders, so that those losers who choose to constantly rip off the work of others will be forced to sell one of their favourite cows, goats or organs to cover all the legal costs.

I completely agree with you on the app. To the extent that I don't use it. I only go on steemit when I am at my computer.
Maybe some of my writing can enter your "third-graders home work assignment" tag. However, I don't proclaim to be a journalist, just using this more as a blog than anything else and a bit of networking. Is there any way to see the amount of users on steemit?
Plagiarism is an issue, I think that if steemit wanted to they could easily (albeit costly) intergrade a plagiarism program into the site such as 'turn-it-in' which a lot of universities now use or checking students work and doesn't automatically discredit the written but shows where they may have got the information from and can give you a percentage of what it believes is copied.
