ENG/SPA What is your "Why" of Steemit / ¿Cuál es tu porqué de Steemit?
Following the recommendation of @andrarchy I watched this very interesting video about how great leaders inspire people.
In the video Simon Sinek explains that every company which manages to inspire people starts from the position of "why" and then uses this to inform "how" they do what they do, and then "what" they do (what products and services they offer). Most companies, on the other hand, start from "what" they offer and then reverse engineer "how" they go about creating their products, and finally deriving some half-hearted "why."
"People don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it"
After watching it we had a very interesting discussion-talk about which would be the why of Steemit.I asked him directly and he gave me a solid answer:
I think it's to accelerate the adoption of blockchain technology and promote decentralized solutions to the world's biggest problems.
@beanz also put a nice paragraph together to describe how she feels about it:
The why, in my opinion is to create an economic system that frees us from our dependence on banks by making blockchain technology approachable for the mass community. Another why is to challenge and replace the current system of politics with a system of real time feedback and constant shifts in power, giving the masses the power to take down a corrupt system collectively without having to "take it to the polls" so to speak. But yes, phrasing this right is the hard part.
I replied on that by saying that for me that was too complicated and people who are not used to the idea of decentralization wouldn’t understand or care.
After couple of minutes talking and interacting with more users we came to the conclusion that we have two different approaches:
The why for the marketing side and the why related to the ideology and the real aim of this platform.
After further discussion “the content ownership” came out and we agreed that this should to be included on the why of Steemit so he gave me a sentence that I liked more than the previous one:
Accelerate the adoption of blockchain technologies to put people in control of their content.
At this point others users were also making good points:
Is it the antisystem approach the right one? I’m not sure about that, companies and investors are normally scared about anarchism and decentralization. The why for mass adoption it was the money.
We totally agreed that the money is what matters for the majority and I have to say that I first joined because a friend told me he made 2000$ with a single post back in July.
As for me...What has the blockchain technology brought to me?
Since I’ve only cashed out $19 in July just to make sure this platform wasn’t a scam, for me the most important thing in Steemit is the social interaction. The friends making machine that this platform has become is impressive.
A Spanish content creator @dresden told me the other day that for him the money wasn’t important at all. The fact that other nice people interact with him, like his content, and give him nice comments and recognition was the most valuable thing about steemit.
I’m sharing this anecdote because sometimes what it is important for some users is not important at all for others. The priorities and needs for some users can be very different. A good thing about Steemit is that it allows to fulfill most of them while enjoying the whole experience
This is my why:
In a world where people tend to get colder and faker in conventional social networks there is a social network where people actually get closer through something which may be the healthiest thing for the human mind: Creativity.
So I ask you because you belong to the early adopters and you are the pillar of the Steemit infinite wall.

Siguiendo la recomendación de @andrachy, ví con atención este interesante video acerca de cómo los líderes son capaces de inspirar.
En el vídeo, Simon Sinek explica que todas y cada una de las compañías que inspiran empiezan su discurso con un porqué y luego usan esto para describir “Cómo” hacen lo que hacen y a continuación definen “Qué” es lo que hacen (qué productos y servicios ofrecen). Por otro lado, la mayoría de las empresas se definen empezando por el producto y acabando por su razón de ser.
La gente no compra lo que haces sino el porqué lo haces
Después de ver el video tuvimos una interesante discusión-charla acerca de cuál sería el porqué de Steemit. Le pregunté directamente y me dio una respuesta bastante sólida.
Creo que el porqué es acelerar la adopción de la tecnología blockchain para promover soluciones descentralizadas a los problemas del mundo.
@beanz también escribió un buen resumen acerca de la visión de su porqué:
El porqué, en mi opinión es crear un sistema económico que
nos libere de nuestra dependencia de los bancos haciendo la tecnología del
blockchain algo mucho más común y cercano para la comunidad en masa. Otro
porqué sería promover y reemplazar el actual sistema político por un sistema
donde la interacción ocurriera en tiempo real, dando a las masas el poder de
quitar cualquier sistema corrupto.
A mi entender, eso era demasiado complicado. La gente que no está acostumbrada a las ideas de descentralización no creo que den demasiada importancia a ese punto de vista.
Después de unos minutos hablando e interactuando con otros usuarios llegamos a la conclusión de que habían dos ángulos desde donde mirar el tema.
El porqué del lado del marketing y el porqué ligado a la ideología y el objetivo real de esta plataforma.
Seguimos con la charla y el “ser dueño del contenido” surgió como un punto esencial y decidimos que debería ser incluido en cualquier definición sobre Steemit. @andrachy me dio una frase que me gustó más que la anterior.
Acelerar la adopción de la tecnología blockchain para poner a la gente en control de su contenido.

¿Es la visión antisistema la más apropiada? No estoy seguro de eso. Las empresas einversores nunca han sido muy amigos del anarquismo y la descentralización. El porqué para la adopción en mesa será el dinero.
Coincidimos totalmente en que el dinero es lo que más importa a la mayoría de la gente y tengo que decir que cuando me registré en steemit lo hize porque un amigo me comentó que había conseguido 2000$ con un único poste el pasado Julio.
Por lo que a mi respecta...¿Qué es lo que me ha traído a mi la tecnología blockchain?
Ya que desde que empecé en esta aventura solo he sacado 19 dólares el pasado Julio para comprobar que todo esto no era una especia de timo, para mí la parte más importante de Steemit es la interacción social. La máquina de hacer amigos en la que se ha convertido steemit es, para mi, muy impresionante.
Un amigo y creador de contenido en español @dresden me comentó el otro día que para él, el dinero no era lo más importante. El hecho de que otra gente interactúen con él, le voten, hagan comentarios en sus posts y le den reconocimiento eran, para él, los aspectos con más valor de la plataforma.
Comparto esta anécdota porque a veces lo que es importante para algunas personas no lo es para otras. Las prioridades de la gente pueden ser muy diferentes. Una cosa fantástica de Steemit es que permite cubrir la mayoría de ellas mientras se disfruta de la experiencia completa.
Este es mi porqué
En un mundo donde últimamente la gente tiende a ser más fría y falsa en las redes sociales convencionales, llega una red social nueva donde la gente se acerca a través de lo que puede ser la cosa más saludable para la mente humana: La creatividad.
Así que te pregunto a ti porque perteneces a los primeros usuarios y eres un pilar esencial dentro de este muro infinito de Steemit.
¿Cual es tu porqué?
The Why: To make creators the sole recipients of their content´s value.
The How: By establishing a community-owned, transaction cost free value distribution network (VDN).
The What: The Steem blockchain

gargon my friend! for me it is definately about the community. writing and earning money is wonderful and a big plus. Steemit has give me freedom from my usual working patterns in ways I could have never imagined.
after meeting you guys at steemfest I realized how important it is to have a platform where you are able to connect with great people.
I totally agree with your point. It seems we both have the same priorities :-)
For me the reason why steemit exists, is to cover the gap left by the known social networks. Someone told me once: "If a product is free, the product is you". I do not want to be the product of a big corporation and be misused by the willingness of profit-seeking investors.

Muy interesante. Para mi el tema de la censura no era muy importante la verdad. De hecho ha sido desde que estoy en steemit que me he dado más cuenta de lo censuradas que están otras redes sociales
Me han blockeado de la mitad del internet :p
Por nada, nisiquiera por dar un insulto o mencionar a una persona en especifico.
Yo fuera feliz si me banearan por insultar a alguien, pero lo hacen cuando uno cuestiona ciertas narrativas.
Por ejemplo, a mi me han blockeado de muchos sitios por cuestionar que los hombres se benefician mas de como funciona el mundo al expresar mis experiencias cuando la gente me trataba de mujer y el trato ahora de hombre. Aparentemente hay un conglomerado que no desea el hombre vea como le maltratan, y aunque yo soy una de las pocas personas que puede senialar las diferencias de genero al menos en el trato social, lo que yo diga desde la particularidad de mi experiencia no es bienvenido a menos que valide la version oficial primero. La version de que los hombres crearon el mundo ellos solitos, para su beneficio y costandole libertades a otros, que hasta el dia de hoy lo han podido mantener ellos solitos, defendiendo el sistema incluso a sabiendas de que otros sufren por ello, y que las mujeres no tienen nada que ver con estos lios, nisiquiera por inaccion.
Asi mismo hay otros temas sensibles como la raza, espiritualidad, ecologia, ect que estan altamente censurados. De la misma forma como los robots en Steemit pueden darse cuenta de cuando usuarios especificos comentan o estan programados para responder a ciertos temas, hay sistemas de censura en lugar en el resto del internet.
A veces son instituciones y su tecnologia que censuran, a veces son personas que no entienden que lo que uno hace regresa, y a veces son instituciones que influencian a la gente a que se autocensure y censure a otros.
Gracias por tu extenso comentario y por contarme tus experiencias respecto a la censura. La verdad es que muy intrigante eso que cuentas. Yo ahora mismo casi no uso ninguna otra red social, casi no interactúo en ninguna de ellas porque steemit me tiene completamente absorbido desde hace meses. Aquí estamos libres de la censura
Yo todavia estoy en FB pero cada dia menos, al punto de que diario me ponen anuncios de que tan maravillosa es la red social, y quizas consideraria quedarme con ellos si me ofrecieran algo del dinero que gastaron en ponerme el anuncio en frente jaja.
No me causa gracia que me tome una hora para escribir un comentario sensible e informado solo para luego encontrar que no lo puedo colgar ya que estoy bloqueado o que me lo borraron luego de publicarlo y nadie lo llego a leer. Cada vez que me pasa eso siento que perdi pate de mi vida y me pregunto si deberia siquiera importarme el resto del mundo. Que un sistema te pueda hacer cuestionar si la gente vale la pena es preocupante...

I guess the 'WHY' is as multifaceted as the steemit users themselves. Everybody has one. But besides the different reasons which brought us to this platform, we have a lot of common senses as @dresden perfectly summarized. I was introduced by my friend @knircky in July. He said 'There are girls receiving 5K for an article. I think you should try that as well - people will love the story how you made it from a city to a surfer girl.' I came for the money, but I stayed for something else. I am totally impressed by this community. I haven´t ever learned that much in my life! There is this saying that 'Every person you meet tells you something you don´t know." Well that´s my WHY STEEMIT...

Mi "porque" es tener comunicaciones y conversaciones positivas con otra gente, especialmente con otros artistas. SteemPower y SteemDollars no son la razon de que estoy aqui pero creo que son criticales. Sin esa motivacion de actuar en forma positiva, Steemit se converteria en otro FB or Twitter. Asi que, espero que no lo cambian.
My "Why" is because I like coming here and having positive interaction with other people, especially other artists. SteemPower and SteemDollars don't really play into my motivation but they are critical. Without them, and the motivation to interact positively with others, this would turn into another FB or Twitter. Please don't change this aspect of Steemit.

Quiero finalizar el post como comencé, agradeciendo la oportunidad a esta maravillosa plataforma Steemit, que me ha ayudado en mucho, me dio la oportunidad de conocer un lado oculto en mí, jamás hubiera pensado estar escribiendo, siempre digo lo mismo, mi fuerte no es la escritura ni la redacción, he aprendido mucho, la verdad me cuesta! pero lo hago con mucha pasión, sigo a diarios los consejos que me van dando para mejorar día a día, agradezco la oportunidad de publicar lo que siento y me gusta, a través de la escritura estoy descubriendo cosas y anécdotas de mis antepasados y eso no tiene precio.....
Sin ninguna duda lo que hace maravilloso a esta plataforma son las relaciones humanas.
