Once Steemit gains mass adoption it will be retarded to convert SBD/STEEM to bitcoin. It's sort of like going from bitcoin to the archaic fiat system. Steem has 3 second confirmation time while bitcoin has ~10min conf time. Merchants prefer NOT to wait.
I disagree. Bitcoin is much closer to mass adoption than steem. Perhaps (and hopefully) steem will be mass adopted in the future, but there will be a period of time when bitcoin is used for transactions and steem is not. That is inevitable, and helping steem be converted to BTC will give steem a better oportunity for mass adoption.
