Does Steemit Have, or are they planning, a Referral System So Current Members Can Be Rewarded For Bringing In New Members To The Site?

Not sure if I should tell my friends about Steem and Steemit now or wait for a referral system to be put in place if one is not already there.

    I don't think it exists. Would be great, though and IMHO would catapoult steemit to mass adaption.
    I only think a message system like FB would need to be integrated first.
    And maybe some easier styling options for posts.
