Steemit vs Facebook

Steemit our new decentralized censorship resistant social media platform is poking the big bears that are in hegemony today. But not for long. We know that Facebook is playing dirty games, from spying on your and selling your "private" information to censoring you on sensitive topics including but not limited to politics. Also in multiple cases of riots, social media blacks out immediately from that location, very strange....

This will all end with the advent of STEEMIT! Steemit is a censorship resistant decentralized social media platform that will do none of these, and furthermore give you a chance to earn money, instead of abusing you. Let's line out a few differences:

1) If there is no product, you are the product

The product of Facebook is you, your personal information and your behaviour on the website. They serve you ads, they sell your private info to advertisers and governments, they abuse you, they own your information, everything that you share with them. Their privacy settings is a joke, and they know it, why would you share things there but then enable privacy? It sounds illogical. There is no expectation of privacy on Facebook. Furthermore they use cookies and supercookies (ones that regenerate after delete) to track you everywhere on the internet with their like buttons and comment boxes. It is a very abusive platform.

2) Censorship

Facebook has been caught red handed multiple times of censoring politically sensitive topics and manipulating the political agenda by sorting out the priority of certain posts based on their political affiliations. This is disgusting, no matter how much you hate your political opposition, you don't do things like these. They are just abusing their monopoly, not for much longer.

3) Collaborating with Governments

It is not the business of any entity to collaborate with the government. The government wants to control people, and if FB is collaborating with them, you know where that will lead. The government should be transparent, and non affiliated with social media. In this scenario goverments will abuse social media to control the outcome of elections and pose a serious threat to democracy and human liberty. Every would-be tyrant wants Facebook's support, it has literally became a platform of opression.

4) They earn money and not pay taxes, you don't earn money and do pay taxes

Time to reverse that. STEEMIT let's you earn money, and not be abused any longer by corporations, and hopefully in the future you will not have to pay taxes. It is really unjust if they don't pay any taxes while you are taxed 50% and still abused afterwards. 

Time to free humans and give a chance to freedom of expression, Facebook never intended to do that, it was a hype, and it did more harm than good to humanity. The next step is STEEMIT!
