Simple Procedure Gone South

How many times have you transferred STEEM or SBD out of your Steemit wallet? How many times? I know right?!

It's almost like second nature and I'm always almost certain to never make any mistakes even if I'm just getting out of bed. Well unknown to me, the forces had a different plan for today and had gone ahead to change the routine. Word on the street claims that the lingo for that action is "hard fork". WTF?!

Earlier in the day, before the hullabaloo of the hard fork, I proceeded on one of my most prestigious activities which included me escorting my precious STEEM and SBD as they took a walk from Steemitdom to faraway Poloniexland. It was a routine walk and let's just say I know these routes like the back of my palm. Sadly, today was not to be one of those routine days.

First, I saw a tiny sign that read "temporarily disabled" but it was attributed to STEEM and on this very walk, I was out with only SBD as STEEM had been frozen as Steem Power because of the weather and my new found inclination to save for the rainy days. In my non-discerning mode, I refused to read too much meaning into the sign and continued on my path.

At the bank of the river, I gently set SBD down and into the carefully prepared basket. The memo in it read the same as always, the waters calm and nothing looked fishy. Off my darling SBD went...

And off it went without ever looking back. Then it dawned on me, since STEEM and SBD are of the same family, a temporarily disabled STEEM wallet will also affect the SBD! And boy was I right! A few hours later, SBD also got the "temporarily disabled" tag. BOOM!

Why didn't I realize this earlier?

I'm not really sure but I guess we never stop learning.

What's going to happen to my SBD?

Not entirely sure but my civilized brain is telling me to wait till the "temporarily disabled" tag is taken off STEEM (and now SBD) before expecting any changes or carrying out further action.

Yes and you're not the only one. I've heard from several others with this issue recently and there may be more who have not spoken up. If possible, do not rely on exchanges in the 24 hours before a fork or just after it, as they have to adjust to accommodate the changes.

Hi there, its been a while since the last time we had a chat. By the way, any idea on the effects of this development to the price of steem/sbd? Just eager to know.

Hey Juvy! The engagement on the site is really high today; people seem excited. There should be some more positive changes coming soon. After those, I expect we'll start to see a lot more people discovering the site. And at some point (probably within weeks), the price should start to reflect the growth we are seeing.

It's crypto, though, so anything can happen.

Yeah, word of mouth about steemit are on the streets right now and I believe the daily stats of new users will be doubled.

So how are you today?

Enjoying the positive vibes.

Good to know that. I think majority of steemians are on the lounge, getting along :)

However, SBD should drop somewhere close to $1 at last. There will be more minnows getting SBD and selling them on exchanges. At least that's how it should work...
Also, I have not seen the temp disabled thing on Polo and sent some SBD into an oblivion as well. I believe there are many of unfortunate people like me and fisteganos. Bittrex worked fine, tho.

facing the same problem. it's been 2 days already. I am hopeful they are good guys and will fix these issues soon because many people rely on them as service.

Good luck with it. Hopefully, it shows up there soon.

thanks! hope is what we have :)

Hope and patience.

I should have known better lol. I'm hoping there's a way this can be rectified as I confirmed the funds were received by their account.

It should be there when they get the service back up. You could send them a support request also to make sure they see it.

thanks for all this info

@fisteganos great post mate please upload more info steem on

I have not because i'm a new member in steemit, So i reinvest all profit that i make into steem power

that's the way to go!

Yeah, right

All's well that ends well. It should work out okay. But thanks for sharing as it could be an issue for others as well.

Is the problem only on exchanger or in steemit?

It's with the exchange. Transfer of Steem was disabled but I guess they forgot SBD for a while. It should get fixed hopefully

What exchanger is it, so I can avoid it :)

lol. poloniex

Good, Im on bittrex. :)

homely things got better, and the disable tag got remove, your SBD be OK
