MISSING STEEM | DID MY DEPOSIT OF 1 STEEM DISAPPEAR???
BACKGROUND
I had never received any Steem in my Steemit wallet from outside of the Steemit platform itself, so this morning I thought I'd try out an external deposit. I decided to send to myself an amount of 1 Steem just to see if it works.
EXECUTION
I used my Bittrex account to send the 1 Steem (net value became 0.99 Steem after charges)
I filled out the request as shown below and clicked 'WITHDRAW'
I got the confirmation below:
WHAT WENT WRONG?
I know Steem transactions are super-fast compared to good old BTC but some 2 hours later my Steem has STILL NOT ARRIVED to my Steemit wallet...
...Now I know stuff DOES NOT disappear from the blockchain but what could have gone wrong?... Anyone?
Looks like you sent it to steemit not to your account. Registered acct should be you. memo is just well a memo. Exchanges use it when you sent to them to know where it came from.
Thanks @zathras for that explanation. Could there be a way to recover that steem from 'Steemit' i wonder?
Well sometimes an account will send it back. That is steemit inc's account. Not sure they will bother returning $1. Best bet is to just post some good original content and earn it back.
