Is Facebook loosing its popularity..

Today morning as soon as I woke up and got the newspaper, I was surprised to see this on last page.. I couldn't really believe my eyes.. I pinched myself to check if I was in a dream..
An advertisement from Facebook on a Newspaper?
In today's world. Of digital world, it is believed that every Metropolitan citizen must be having a smartphone with Facebook.. And now for every product the advertisement appears on internet, why Facebook opted for a half page advertisement on a news paper? Isn't this really intriguing...
I think people must be bored with Facebook and must be looking for something new... I feel their expectations have gone up more than getting few likes for some good contest... If all was well, why would they post a newspaper ad?

If you get newspaper to your home would be mainly because you may not want to miss out on some local news, articles, and local TV and movie gossips which we don't find everywhere.. Apart from the above, all other news appearing in the newspaper would have been read on internet on the previous day as it happens..

All people subscribing for newspaper would have internet connection on phone or home... And if they dont then this doesn't make sense, as people will not browse internet and will not know what Facebook is..

FACEBOOK being a digitalmarketing platform, and the ad was about an additional feature or an add on, it would made more sense if they had advertised on their platform itself.. They could have done some customer experience programs, sponsored group meetups used innovative techniques to get more users into groups than advertising on the newspaper..

Lastly, I would also highlight the point of other products which are advertised on Facebook.. What confidence will these products companies seek from Facebook platform for advertising, when Facebook itself is relying on print media for their advertisements..
