Does Steemit have a Culture of Integrity?
It's easy to see that some people don't think about maintaining integrity when it comes to business, like it's not a priority anymore. But there are other people that could argue that integrity is one of the basic foundations of a successful and healthy culture. I hope that the Steemit community starting from the top down to the bottom level of hierarchy has this culture.
But what do we mean by "integrity" anyway? For me, a person who has integrity is honest that they will tell the truth no matter the cost. They are transparent and do not hide behind a mask for the reason they want to be perceived as someone that they're not. In other words, they must be real and genuine. They are honest in all of their business and personal dealings.
Apart from honesty, integrity also means being loyal. A person who has integrity and loyalty always keeps their word and they are there to support another person. It also means that they will always defend the helpless because they strongly believe in justice and that they always stand up for the truth. They hold themselves accountable for their actions and they won't sell out AT ANY PRICE.
I think this is something that we can work on day by day. Otherwise, we are nothing but a bunch of unprincipled human beings who will do everything just for their own personal achievements, that they don't care about other people anymore.
We should be above that. We should not follow a pattern that can be hurtful to ourselves and to others. We should grow in our integrity day by day that our community will be held in high eSTEEM!!!
