Adapt or Die

The big bad Sun is coming with his dirty dirty money and buying our sacred little Steemit land.

Cry me a river.

Can we all agree that Steemit.com was dying and we needed help? There has been about 10 active people in here, a few more working behind the curtain, but that’s about it for the past year. There is a saying in Finnish that roughly translates to the fewer the people, the better the party, and while the introvert in me is fully onboard with that, I do think we need more action in this Steemit party. And yes yes I know there are ten different Dapps and shit like that on the Steem blockchain but none of those were doing much better, let’s not kid ourselves.

There is a point where potential is no longer cutting it.

From what I’ve been reading over on Steemit in the past day after hearing about the acquisition, a few people are thinking about rage quitting, like always when there is a big change in the Steemit land. They are of course free to do so, but I don’t really see the point. If you are in here for the community, like pretty much everyone claims to be, there is no reason to quit over changes in the ecosystem, as the people will still be the same.

There is no glory in being a martyr. Others might disagree and see it as an honourable thing, but I don’t, I think it’s a waste. You can always go back to Facebook and Instagram, and then creep back when the dust has settles and you realise this place is still the best we got, even if not perfect.

Change is inevitable, and while not always welcome, it’s something we can’t get away from. I’ve been in the crypto space for almost three years, and while I’m no nerd and don’t really know shit about anything, I have learned to not stress over this rollercoaster. I’ve learned to stay on my lane and do what I like to do, not really giving a shit about the commotion around me, because it’s all out of my hands anyway. And guess what, I still get to post what I like, and the people I like to socialise with on the blockchain, are mostly all still here.

There is not much information about the logistics, timeline or really anything about Tron taking over Steemit, but speculation, fear and anxiety are big, only some seem to be hopeful. We’ll know more later today.

Sun is here, and while it’s not gonna be all sunshine and rainbows, it never was before either, and never will be. That’s life. So put on your big boy pants and stop bitching. That’s my two cents for this Steemit - TRON business, even if no-one asked.

True! and who knows there might be good sides to this which we haven't seen yet.
So let's do what we do and see what we'll have from now on! <3

And it seems like everyone was freaking out over nothing, at least for now :D

They don't forces for nothing, so definitely there are some stuff coming in our ways! :)

Perfect, just like I planned it!

Very good plan and implementation!

I second that!

hahahhhahaha

I think Steem has no chance of thriving as an independent chain now. Here's what will happen:

  • There will be a token swap. Anyone can opt in to swapping their STEEM for a corresponding token on the Tron blockchain
  • Those who won't swap their STEEM/SP/SBD will find themselves on a chain whose witnesses are all puppets of Justin Sun regardless of how many agree to the swap. This results from the size of Stinc's current stake.
  • The original chain will be driven to the ground. Core blockchain development will stop. It will be delisted from all exchanges. The monetary value of STEEM will plummet to a near-zero level due to zero liquidity. The chain will continue to run but but it will be effectively demonetized.

The Steem copy on Tron will continue to run without some of the most Justin Sun hating individuals who'd rather see the value of their stake go to zero than bend to the will of Justin Sun.

But a copy of Steem based on a snapshot of Steem from before the swap but with Stinc's stake cut out will go live at some point in the future. It will be nearly worthless monetarily due to not having its native token STC (Steem Classic) or whatever being traded on any exchange. If you want to know what a platform like that looks like, go and check out Golos, for example. Remember Whaleshares?

If you want continue to earn anything and benefit from the new bull market, you must go to Tron.

If a way to buy into Steem Classic is established, I will probably buy some more because at sub-1 cent or sub-0.1 cent levels becoming a whale will be quite easy. If that chain ever gets listed or if the crypto space stops being dependent on access to centralized exchanges, Steem Classic might gain a lot of value.

That's a pretty solid overview! Smart, fact based, not feelings based. We'll see how it goes.

I don't see fact, I see opinion. Sure it could go that way, but maybe not!

Well, that's the 2 choices. We'll see what we're dealing with when we see.
Till then. Be cool! :) I'm with ya!

Hasty reactions rarely end well. Keep a calm, cool head, and everything will be alright

If it isn't alright, we'll deal with that when it comes to it.

Bigger fish eating smaller fish, it's always the same 😂 but otherwise you are of course right, with or without boy pants 😍

Natural selection, it makes sense :)

HA! Thanks for putting that in some perspective.

Just my common sense here, willing to share it for others who are lacking on that department :)

I suddenly have an appetite for buns...

Sweet or salty? Like cinnamon roll, or dinner roll?

This is good

So put on your big boy pants and stop bitching

Pretty much.

You would think it's not that hard right?

Perhaps it is because people wear skinny jeans these days, despite the obesity epidemic, ;D

Excuses excuses, jeans have 20% elastane these days, it's like wearing leggings!

I squat ;D
