The weather outside hasn't been particularly nice this last week
In fact it's been cold, rainy and it's SNOWED!
so I staid inside and STEEMED ON
about the same as I've been doing for the last fifteen months.
For reasons I don't understand
(Possibly due to me being a curmudgeon)
I don't get a LOT of votes
and they don't pay very much
but I get a little bit.

i imagine that level of consistency does pay off...though im sure having started so long ago also helped. i do one post a day... try to keep the quality up...but some times life just calls for pictures of food, kittens or what ever can be quickly thrown together. i mostly go unnoticed...but stuck at it for 2 months... plugging away... not really caring that nobody cared. now it is picking up a bit...i like to think because i just stuck at it.
peeps just got the wrong attitude in my book...like steemit owes them something... i just think i owe myself...eventually people will see me... and if they dont... it dont matter....as the point is i shared me...and that was good for me.
so i say thank you for the spirit of this message @everittdmickey...even if your whale rep aides you...this plucky persistence certainly got you there...this is what the noob needs see. that noob being me
Before I found Steemit I'd been on FaceBook like for ever...i'm talking many years if not decades. I like to post on social media. I like to discuss stuff. (I'm trying to encourage that on Steemit). If I hadn't found Steemit I'd STILL be doing it on FaceBook...for free.
Very exciting @everittdmickey! It has been a great week for us. We had our first post go double digits. Feels real good. Not to mention my estimated account value is blowing up....well, like a firecracker, but still!
How about whale hits? How many have you gotten? Anything inspirational on that front?

Ah but I be nothing but a redfish/plankton, but on the news front, because of you showing how to power-up effectively, my vote value went from $0.020 to $0.030. Slowly he crept, inch by inch.... My week was not as good as yours, but it still improves.

Steem was about .75 then...so it cost me about 53 Steem for a month

I strategically upvote my own posts now and then.
What is the strategy for voting for oneself while holding extra power? I mean beyond just doing it a little or a lot? Is there anything more to it, like when and which?

At times it gets a little frustrating when you put so much effort in one post and you dont get enough recognition. But i know i shouldnt loose hope and keep working hard to reap the benefits like you. And yes i was so happy to see SBD go past 10$. Good post 👍

they don't give a damn about quality...
even if you get a real person to read your post they typicaly don't read more than a paragraph.
it seems the whole world has attention deficient disorder (ADD).
so...if you want to right a long, detailed post, with lots of pictures.
Do that.
then chop it up into leeeetle pieces...
instead of one post you now have ten or twenty.
same amount of time invested.
ten or twenty times more revenue.

for the first year I wasn't making but a few cents a POST. I'm making more now on COMMENTS than I was on posts then.
