How Did I Find SteemIt?

It was on Sunday, 7 August 2016 that I watched The Dollar Vigilante's YouTube video "How I made $15,000 in 12 hours on the New Blockchain-Based, Social-Media Site Steemit"

I was intrigued by the possibility of blogging and earning. I watched the video a second time, then I signed up for SteemIt.

SteemIt Addiction

For about a month I was addicted to SteemIt, blogging, commenting, and curating. Most of my blog posts earned nothing or very little during the early days. But I persevered and learned as much as I could about SteemIt and the STEEM block chain.

From Minnow To Dolphin

In my recent post "Benefits of STEEM Power and Buying the Dips In STEEM Price" I described how I powered up my STEEM Power and the benefits I experienced.

Powering up increased the worth of my upvote, enable me to use the sliding bar for upvotes, and increased my curation rewards.

And as my interaction with the community and reputation score increased so did my number of followers.

As I became a dolphin within the SteemIt community, I looked for ways to give back to the community and increase my engagement with the community. This is when I started to experimenting with voting strategies that were mutually beneficial.

My Voting Strategy

Out of my last 357 upvotes 23.8% of them have been self-votes of my blog post and comments. By upvoting my posts 3 to 5 days after they are created, I am able to reward those who curated my posts within the first 0 to 3 days after they were created.
