I got to hear about the thunderclap from @samstickkz,which was an initiative by @FitzGibb0n to spread Steemit and Steem on Facebook and Twitter.
By participating in a Facebook and Twitter Thunderclap you will allow Thunderclap to share on facebook or tweet. This first time in 2018,we will Thunderclap on the 9th of January, letting the world know that Steem has a very fast transaction time.

Its actually a support of steem or steemit flow,more like spreading steemit round the world through various social medias like facebook,twitter etc.
