SBD/ USD is giving WINDFALL rewards.
I just saw a post that earned $145 by @sandalphon complaining about the current Post Rewards.
AND HE GOT IT 100% WRONG!!
We are not being shortchanged or jipped right now!! We are getting a HUGE WINDFALL!!!
Should the calculations be corrected? Probably... But I'm not complaining because we are getting MORE than we should at the moment!!!
Here is my comment/ simplified calculations I just left on his post:

Potential Post payout is shown in USD (with the expectation that 1 SBD is worth 1 USD).
100 USD post... 75% = 75 USD
50/50 is 37.5 SBD and 12 Steem
(Steem is valued at $3 USD on the market now. So you get 1/$3 or 1/3 the Steem than the SBD..... 1 SBD IS CALCULATED AS 1 USD.)
Now lets look again....
$100 USD post gets 37.5 sbd valued at $375 USD plus 12x3=36 USD from the 12 Steem...
Gives you a payout of $411 USD for a post that is supposed to only be worth $100.
We are actually making about 4 to 5 Times MORE than we are supposed to be.
We are not getting jipped.... We are making an un-earned/unintentional WINDFALL. "
I simplified it very much and assumed a market value of $10 per SBD and $3 per STEEM. Those numbers maybe slightly less right now, but were there or higher in the last two weeks. They do for the illustration I wanted to make.

we are definitely making more money than we supposed. I've seen people complaining about SDB being higher than steem coin. I think this is great.

Yes, I think you have the calculations right. It changes a bit if you upvote yourself, etc. or if some big votes come in under the 30min mark. But overall you have it right.

Yes indeed it is absolutly a windfall at the moment and we should be rejoicing it and making the most from it and not complaining :)

BTW, it's 12.5 Steem with your numbers, but other than that, the math checks out.
But do call it "$100 post" and not "100 USD", the whole point is that it is not 100 USD, but 412.5 USD.
The SBD $1 value is an insurance that guarantees you can always get at least $1 worth of Steem for it. When it's worth more, we only benefit. There's no reason to claim the calculation should be revisited, as the calculation isn't there to guarantee us a certain reward pattern. The crypto market takes care of that.
I think their post was just confused as to how the math worked, not intentionally misleading. But your math is more accurate for sure. We are making more than we are "supposed to" because our post value is based on a SBD pegged to $1. Everything above this is extra reward, not accounted for in the post payout line.
One could complain that sbd isn't over $12 USD like it was. Or that Steem has gone back up, so the 6/1 steem for sbd exchange is gone.
A positive outlook always wins the day, so I'm going with your view.

Shoot I jumped the gun by one day after my first nice paying post. Read an article by @ilyastarar about how good the .315 steem rate was. So I jumped on it. Then the next day it tumbled to .150 or so. Ahhhh!
Still. I made out well. Was able to pump up SP near 90 and get some alt coin. :)
My brain is too fried as I conclude my NY holiday visit to even register this math. All I know is with SBD at this level I'm getting a sweet bonus of a USD payout cus SBD was designed to be a peg.
I will never complain about SBD when it is above 1. I'm riding the wave until it comes to shore.
