This is not true I'm afraid, otherwise everyone with a palindromic pin would lose their cards and the authorities would be inundated with calls.
Examples of the types of pin that would cause this:
1221, 1212, 1111 etc.
Sorry I misread the content on Wikipedia. I have better added it as HOAX..
