Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted counts. What Matters in Life? Those that mind dont matter and those who matter dont mind.

Today I spent 14 hours on a Mexican bus counting, and thinking. At least Einstein got that right.

Living in Mexico is so subtley but magically old school different from my home country Australia.
I really notice the soul of the people.

The vibe I get in a party of Mexicans is the same vibe I used to get down the coast in the 70´s as a kid.

We used to go camping with all our extended aunts and cousins and grandparents all together. Fishing. Gutting, scaling. Playing cards by gaslight. Cooking together. Eating in relaxed style all communal. All good natural food.
The memory is so fond the burner smells come wafting back.

Not everyone here measures themselves by money. In fact the majority of Mexicans Ive met in cities or country have not yet fallen into this deliberate trap- the shallow external power way of valuing others.

A Mexican will push a huge metal freezer chest around on a bike all day to sell 50 icecreams at half a buck each.
If he sells them early, he will knock off early.
If it takes all day, it takes all day.
And if you can see your way through till tomorrow you can take the afternoon off.

This is why government in Mexico doesnt quite yet have the yolk on the people like it does in the "developed world".
How do you tax an icecream guy, a pineapple girl, a coconut man???

Even Mexicans I know with "proper jobs" do business on the side... every house, every one, does their own businesses.
Day in year out and theyve probably learnt the skills they have from generations of family living the same.

Today as the bus entered the town of Chetumal, there were four families selling pineapples on tables in front of their properties, about 20 metres apart. Some were smaller, different prices. The people were all smiling, relaxed, hanging, playing, "working".

The stall closest the direction of traffic probably thought they would get all the business first.
Theres always those who drive past the first suspiciously, and the second stall convinces them.
Then there are those who cannot make up their mind that quick, they roll into the 3rd stall.

Then there are those who say "I dont feel like pineapple", but by the fourth stall, with the girls coming up to the window with icy cold fresh pina juice -and they stop there.

People coming the other way down the highway are the same so the stalls get all the same in reverse.
BECAUSE theyre relaxed about it. Theyre probably also friends as well as neighbors and know if one of them doesnt sell enough pinapples, there is plenty for everyones needs to be met.

Now if one of the business owners was competitive, she buys out all the other families and has the only shop, but then she wouldnt have any neighbors.

These people demonstrate faith that their needs will be met, doing their thing.

Infinite.
Eternal.
Abundance

There is enough to go around.
Our greatest wealth is in realising how little we need so we can have more time for living, learning, not just earning.

Over the years I have learnt a lot from people who never knew I was their student.
I owe these people so much and I´m yet to even thank some of them.
None of us have any idea really, who or how we may have helped, or hindered.

Watch your mind and your ego after you post. Watch what they do... are you excited, hopeful, positive, or fearful, cringing, and dejectedly preparing yourself for rejection.
I fall somewhere in between those extremes with every art i make, and I am noticing a few parallels in steem energy and personal energy.
Has anyone else noticed this?
(I wonder rhetorically...but faithfully add a question mark in fore- hindsight as if this post already has a view ; )

When my posts get little attention straight away, its okay
Maybe its a sign I need to keep tightening my writing, showing more respect to the readers time, honing, perfecting, upskilling, thinking... until we are competing.

The best thing about STEEMIT ** is** the arbitrary, but humanly influenced votes.
If we were all just getting paid for time and chipmunk strokes where´s the fun in that?

If we see the competition as healthy, strengthening, we´ll all get better at all we do.
And imagine the explosion of newBOLD fresh ideas being born when we are all fired up...

Statism will no longer even resonate against this mighty grunting hummmmmm.

We´ll fucken short the Large Hardon Collider at this rate

Only slightly better than STEEMIT

I havent seen any highly paid posts on STEEMIT that werent informative, honest, personal, funny, sad, real- the works.

The human element that arbitrarily effects ratings and votes we will all need to feel it out as the community grows over time... and we´ll all have to try different approaches and explore our arts.
If it sucks, no one will be here... I think we all, already know that, so fingers crossed lets see what the STEEMIT rapidly dilating soul portal of humanity reveals.

Someone today may be getting a huge payout, but it might just as likely be you next week, so give it 20 or 30 posts minimum before writing yourself off as too "small" a voice, or too "overlookable".
If you´re still making zero and having no fun after all that -by all means, blame the audience.
Say its unfair.

Really, what is more unfair than the NSA or the CIA just censoring or shutting down your page if you are too good, true, successful or popular.

I hear people complaining "it wont keep me" when they have only made 40cents on a post .
Add up all the FB posts in the past year, you´d have over $10,000 bucks, multiply that a decade and you´ve given Zuckershit a hundred grand of your time and revenue... and you´re there slagging off the guys who invented a way to pay you 40cents for tapping your lap.

If nothing else go read some of the philosophical posts by one of the founders @dan.
Compare the vibes with Mark Zuckerberg.
No contest

STEEMIT is like when you sit round a TV with friends. Everyone quips constant truth in over the propaganda to spread good cheer and deflect the bullshit theyre spraying.

STEEMIT community is like those friends.
Theres always at least one who likes to throw spanners.

Embrace them all. Truth fears no enquiry.

Congratulations to me I have just been granted another 180days political asylum. Thank you Mexico Magicoooooo

@naiya-cassidy dont give me erect nipples in the morning

Three things:
a) How can the people with pineapple stalls be happy? Haven’t you heard that “capitalism is bad”? (You’ve probably also heard that Mexicans are lazy people who all want to head north of the border to collect welfare.) Are you trying to suggest there’s a disparity between reportage & reality? Next you’ll be saying that the stories hitting the MSM today about violence in Mexico are exaggerated. You’re clearly spending too much time with real people and not watching enough TV. (Great TV graphic by the way).
b) 14 hours on a bus?! I’m guessing you headed for the nearest border & back again to extend your stay. I’m tempted to ask why you bother when no-one checks!
c) The line on the kid’s mini-cooler, “If you lick it, you buy it”. Relevant only to chilled goods or a good principle for life? Discuss. Personally, I’d like to see it on t-shirts. And as a caption on the 4th picture above.

jesus @lensessions... attn to detail impressive. I like you but if you come here with that a)ttitude there´ll be mexican violence...thanks for listening, really! I thought the kid was funny without it but Ive outdone myself.
DEFINITELY DO THE T-SHIRTS. You will be richer than Trump : / I´d like one upping queen bey...Although of course everyone knows if you lick it you dont have to buy it.
