Our Amazing Backyard Tree- How and Why To Protect Our Mother Nature..

Our Backyard Tree

When I was young, we had a tree in our backyard. Even though the shade of the tree fell in our backyard but the tree was planted in our neighborhood.
The tree was frequented by a lot of birds like parrots and there were a couple of nests of different species of birds in the tree as well. As a child, I used to sit hours just observing the birds as well as the squirrels all over the tree.
With time, the tree grew more and flourished with many more branches than earlier. It was such a calming sight for me to just watch the tree grow and blossom and as more and more squirrels and birds started chirping on it, it became a fascinating pastime for me.

Not only, did it provide us with shade but also it was home to a lot of birds as well as animals like squirrels. Alas, it remained the same before a very little period of time. Soon enough our neighbors moved away and the new neighbor in order to expand his home, cut away the tree.

Personally, for me, it was a devastating site as birds lost their nest and squirrels became homeless as our area had very sparse vegetation other than the tree. Soon enough, the area which was frequented by so many birds was deserted and the shade which we used to get from the tree was also gone. That is when I personally decided to plant a tree in our backyard which no one could take away from us.

The loss of habitat for the animals as well as the birds brought about a drastic change in me and I understood the importance of conserving nature as it impacted not only the ones in whose premises, the plants and trees were but it also impacted the entire ecological system around it like in our neighborhood. This is one of the main reasons why you should try to protect nature and environment around you.

With the help of my dad, I planted a tree around that time in our own backyard. Even though, my dad explained to me that it would take a very long period of time in order to make it grow but still, I wanted to have such a large tree pretty bad in the backyard which supported the birds as well as animals like squirrels.
We moved away from the neighborhood since then and I lost track of the event until the other day when I happened to visit our old neighborhood. Thankfully, the tree till now has been retained by the current owners of the home and they haven't uprooted it. What I noticed, however, was that it was one of the only homes in the entire neighborhood which has dense vegetation in its backyard.

Looking closer, I realize that it was due to the shade which was provided by the tree. That is when I realized that even though it might take a longer period of time in order to get some advantage by taking care of the mother nature but it is well worth it. Due to the soaring temperatures in the area, none of the other houses were able to sustain the plants which they were growing in their backyard as I saw wilting plants in their backyards. However, my older home still had dense vegetation due to the shade of the tree.

Conserving mother nature is not that much of a difficult task. If each one of us realizes that we have to just plant two plants in our lifetime and you have to nurture them to the best of our capabilities, you can be sure that the forest cover which we have lost over the years due to human development would be reclaimed within a single generation, like has happened in my older house.

It is the time that most of us take the task of protecting mother nature seriously and instead of cutting down the trees to make way for a warehouses as well as development, we need to amalgamate mother nature into our development plans so that it becomes easier for us to have a greener planet. Protecting mother nature is very easy if we have a plan. All we need to do is to just stop the deforestation and plant trees wherever possible.

By protecting mother nature, we would be able to certainly have a cooler atmosphere and hold the march of global warming which would ensure that the temperatures are moderated over a longer period of time. Moreover, by protecting mother nature we would be sustaining animal habitat as well. This would ensure that the entire ecological system would be created rather than just a tree or a plant. Some of the benefits of protecting mother nature which i witnessed are:

-Creating animal ecosystem
-Supporting bird ecosystem
-Aiding the growth of other plants and vegetation

That day, visiting our old neighbourhood made me realise that protecting mother nature is not that much of a difficult task if you have decided to, so as the steps to protect mother nature are undertaken only during the initial years like I took the steps by planting a tree and later on mother nature would be able to sustain itself after a certain period of time if left undisturbed
