Why Steemit will fail unless...
Ask not "how can I become rich from steemit." But instead, ask what can YOU do for Steemit?!
Ok, I say this jokingly, but I have over the last few days really started to think about what is it that will make steemit as successful o fa platform as I think many of us are hopeful it will be.
We live in crazy times of internet money. As the early adopters, we must be aware of bad actors: self-voter, evil whales, and whatever else I can't think of right now. Those of us who care for steemit have to fight even harder, put out MORE good content, steem-clean MORE bad accounts, and curate MORE good content to make sure the talented and dedicated stay in the ecosystem 😊

You bring up some reasonable thinking points: if we're honest with ourselves, we'll recognize that great riches from Steemit can follow only after - as a result of - our effort to produce great content.
With all that in mind, here's a relevant Ayn Rand quote:

100% brotha! after we make dope content and keep capturing more momentum . I saw an interviw with steemit CEO Ned from last week in texas. He was saying some pretty big named companies hav recently expressed interest in the platform. Guaranteed that will continue to drive the platform's success upward.
Appreciate the quote too brotha! My mom made me read atlas shrugged when I was a kid, but to be honest I skipped a bunch of pages cause it was too long lol. Youre making me want to revisit it now though
Cool reply; I think I should follow your blog. Re: the long novel, I found that a thorough reading of The Fountainhead was helping me grasp the finer points of Atlas that I had missed, so I mustered up the nerve to read the latter a second time (which I really did. Ha!), and got much more out of it. Classic Rand.

I think it is all about building the creators community in here and bringing now more audience and not only fill the platform with creators... because if we have no audience and only creators it is going to be always slower :D
But it is still pretty early.. so lets just keep working on building a positive place in here and keep bringing content.
100% agree! didnt really even consider that aspect of it. I've kind of maintained a "build it and they will come" philosophy, but you are right to emphasize the importance of filling the platform with consumers as well. Now I'm thinking, well how do you do that without just talking to people about it.
I saw an interview last week with Ned, Steemit CEO, who said that some major companies have reached out trying to figure out how they can get on the platform and such!

I got 2 of my friends to make accounts and they both gave up and stopped using it because their posts weren't making any money. Too many people only upvote what they think will make money, and not what they actually like. That is very discouraging to new minnow users. Also, I keep seeing posts and comments that have 2 or 3 cents go down to zero right at payout. I can't explain why that happens. That's why one of my friends quit.
I understand their feeling. I have put out numerous videos that didn't get any payout. It is discouraging, but if I could talk to them I would say keep going man. If you are an authentic creator (im not saying professional) dont let the small payouts get to you. Cause they will happen (I bet this week I'll post a video that wont get any payout) but encourage them to curate and go make themselves known. follow people they are interested in, and just consume good content and engage. people WILL find them!
Yeah, I'm not giving up; but many people are. I tell them the same thing.
