Also its like stocks, a company might not be worth its share value but on the belief that lots of people will upvote it or even a whale might vote. Getting you vote in early increases chance for gaining some SP. Hence the swarm vote on whatever looks to be the trend. i.e Any post by charlieshem or dollarvigilante I would guess is going through the roof.
The devs made an adjustment so that early voting is actually penalized.
really whats the time limits
The first 30 minutes you vote you're hit with a sliding penalty - 100% penalty at 0 minutes, a 50% penalty at 15 minutes, and after 30 minutes you can enjoy 100% of any curation rewards for which you're eligible.
