RE: Who is keeping the Steem price up?

in #steemit7 years ago

But that would mean the price dropping, at least that is what I would expect when throwing such amount on the market. Or do you mean this one is trying to push the price of Steem up all the time, to be able to cash in at a higher value? BTW, Bitcoin is going up in value last 24 hours quite a bit, now almost 1.100$ while it was close to 900$ a day or two ago.

Is it? It is Tuesday, and the BTC prices are going up yesterday and today whilst it went down quite a bit at the end of last week, starting on Thursday.

It is normal the the price change on the weekends for me... it is kind of a behavior that I have seen since I am into BTC.

Monday, first banking day of the week. Probably a peak transaction finalization day for Coinbase people buying BTC from bank accounts. The buys clear, price goes up, people trade BTC for altcoins, price goes back down again tomorrow.

Ok, I'll follow. Just into crypto trading for 10 days, so was not closely looking at these dynamics yet. Thanks a million; Learning quick this way :)

The account is buying Steem with SBDs, and has been for a while.

Ah ok, but that means this individual may push Steem price down to get in as low as possible. I noticed a buy wall for some time at around 0.001881 yesterday; Seems to be gone now.
