Steemit - Very good Article in Blockchain News
Blockchain News has just published an article by Rupert Hackett.

He writes for multiple bitcoin and tech websites and is an acting Board Director for the Australian Digital Currency Commerce Association (ADCCA).
In the article, Hackett compares steemit.com to other Social Media platforms, Zapchain and Changetip, both of which closed down in the second half of 2016.
Both these sites failed due to insufficient uptake. Ned Scott countered the suggestion that steemit.com may suffer a similar fate, explaining that the nature of steemit is truly diverse and open-source.
One comment which many steemians will appreciate read as follows:
“The current business model of social media, however, doesn’t extend profits to the creators of the content. The users on networking sites are there if not to churn out free content, then to be a product to sell to advertisers.”
The article goes on to allow Ned Scott to explain the fundamental differences between steemit and its Social Media peers by virtue of steem, the Cryptocurrency.
Hackett did touch a nerve, however, over the distribution of rewards via multiple voting bots held by individuals.
