Will Dapps Games Sustain or Elevate STEEM Value?steemCreated with Sketch.

Hey Steemians,

A blessed Monday to all of you! Most of the time Mondays are pretty gloomy for many (well it’s better for me recently as I get to take a break on Tuesday – out of unforeseen circumstances) but today is extra special for 2 reasons.

  1. #teammalaysia had another fantastic meet up! (yay!) Details will be in my main profile later.

  2. Seems that we are just on time to look into a DApp called Next Colony that allows players to make use of their STEEM during the struggling period, just like other games like Steem Monsters and Drug Wars .

Ever since technology (computers) has been introduced to the world vast majority has truly invested in one part that never changed as technology evolves; which one of them is games.

When computers came out, many people were skeptic with the use of it since many are so accustomed to the typewriter and prints on paper were a norm.

Then games attracted kids and even adults to both invest and improve – creating an economy opening for capitalists to venture in for profit via entertainment.

When BTC came into play, it was merely talking about fiat transfer digitally with a full ledger to track on (if you know how to trace it) and marketplace took in by storm, but as the mining difficulty becomes harder and too expansive to sustain even with strong popularity like BTC it was a rough road with many hard-forks.

Then came smart contracts – from ETH, and then Decentralised Social network like Steemit came on board.

But these comes to bumpy passages when nodes are hard to maintain and without a purpose to keep it running with all the expenses, even how active it can be traded in the market it lacked – purpose.

Even with #teammalaysia and many more communities all over the world continued to push the seamless fee-free transactions available for Steem circulating within the blockchain not to mention getting early adopters to join the STEEM blockchain technology via fiat, many are still not confident (with its volatile value) that crypto currencies are keepers.

Until games starting to appear.

Especially strategy games.

(Let’s keep this on a more positive mode than the destructive darker side of gaming – like chance)

I have always been a fan with strategy games over other game genre simply because it allows me to think and explore.

And I still vividly remembered my old school mate who I used to have tea with her a little more while we had more time, she was an avid game player and her accounts are valuable for selling (when she’s really good at it)

As the economy ecosystem still struggles to form on the Steem blockchain, could gaming be a stepping stone to stabilize or even elevate the Steem value?

When Drug Wars started we (for a while) saw the spike of Steem value because of the opportunities for people to play and invest for returns .

The entire blockchain was buzzing with excitement from payouts to mere battling entertainment.
But when Future-coin was introduced, and now it is almost a complete take over, once again STEEM is challenged for its significance for people to keep using it.

And now, with Next Colony, could it once again build hopes for even late comers to the Steemit family to both entertained and earn at the same time?

Thus out of curiosity, I formed my first planet.

Does look like an untarnished moon

The smart part of the developers for Next Colony at the moment is that they have provided quite a head start for new gamers to embark in this interesting game.

Unlike Drug Wars there were no (obvious) referral link to it so it’s purely a strategy game to build and trade planets (like those trading cards) for fun. Except the Alpha planet that was given to you to start the game.

I feel it can be a potential game because it has a wider imagination than cartel stories, but then again, when you start to build and invade other planets, it could just be another cartel story, just on a wider Star Trek / Star Wars like of an environment.

Creative writers can even make use of this game (just as I remembered Make A Baby did) in their creative content with expanded imaginations like Role Play stories to it; because unlike Monsters and Drug Wars, both are bound it a basic constrain world-view, Space imagination can just be – unlimited.

So will this new launch of the game, hopefully minus off dramas, be able to bring another level of excitement for Steemians and new gamers to join in the blockchain, thus boosting and stabilizing STEEM value for future real life adoption?

Welcoming all thoughts here!

Until then

I am not for games
I think the only I played right to the end so many many many moons ago was Super Mario Brothers
And when I finished all the levels, curious to know what was waiting for me at the end, it was Level 1..... 🤯

But everyone else in the family are into games
The Hubs after his introduce yourself post didn’t do anything until Drug Wars

So perhaps, if the game is good is going to get em just like Fortnite, Apex Legend, Identity V, and what have you...

Haha well I have stopped playing games since Clash of Clans but yeah, with more and more people glued on their games, might as well make it worth while.

Dear @dses

I hope you don't mind if I would remove my little delegation as I would like to use some of my STEEM POWER to support "project #hope" (I mentioned about it in my latest post).

If you think that you may still need that that delegation then please let me know. I checked your current SP and I think you should be fine.

Let me know:)
Yours, Piotr

Hello dear @dses.

I just checked your account again and it seem that you're not active on Steemit any more. Hope you didn't give up on this platform and our little community. And hope you're well.

All best, Piotr.
