Is cooking a thing for women; what do you think?

in #steemit7 years ago

I've seen many men who are happy having their passionate job as chefs, but in Nigeria precisely Ibadan, state capital of Oyo state in the southwestern part of the country where i live. Men i've seen believe it's the norms of the day for their wives and daughters to get their hands dirty while cooking at the kitchen. I, on the order hand believe it's a mutual understanding and ability to lend a helping hand is what matters in this case. I believe cooking doesn't have to be a specific job for a particular gender. In my opinion, if you are man and maybe by chance you have knowledge about how to cook some dishes, you are in best position to do it and the same goes for woman.

Here i am making stew, mum wasn't around, so if i don't do it, who will?

Hanees Mohammed(Quora), a food lover who takes cooking from his wife on weekends said "there are equal number of good cooks in both the genders. At home, women lead by a slender margin as most of the time they take up this task and get experienced well in cooking. Experience plays an important role in cooking well as one learns cooking by trial and error. Women are good at finding everyone's taste buds in the family and cook accordingly. That's why many find it tough to eat in restaurants on a regular basis. But men lead cooking well in a professional setting like restaurants and catering to functions". (Five votes 5.5k views)

Now my fellow steemit folks, ladies and gentlemen, men and women, weigh in your own opinion about this topic, its a matter of perspective i think.

Well over here in Canada, it is often a shared duty! Most of my friends have husbands who cook, whereas in my house, I am the cook.
I think it's a good thing to know for all...
