Steemit update: phone verification at signup and new wallet features

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

Seems I just caught this while deploying: Steemit rolled out a few new features.

If you want to sign up, now you are required to authenticate with your phone number. This should reduce significantly the number of bots.

And second, it seems that the Wallet now has an Withdrawal account, which requires funds to stay there 3 days prior to the actual withdrawal. That should slow down the exodus of Steem outside of the platform.

My 2 cents is that the price falling is also near the end, but it may go near $0.20 as well (please don't make any move based on my hunch, it's just a hunch).

Posting feature: now you can choose how you can get paid: default is 50% - 50% (I suspect this is 50% SBD + Steem - 50% SP), decline payment completely for that post, or 100% Power Up.

Later edit: it also seems there is a bug in Safari, the login process is broken at the moment.

Makes you wonder why we are doing this as most people earn nothing yet I see moderate posts earning a fortune. Training videos are really needed

There is a big correction in price taking place as Steem is nearing the value it had before the July explosion. Steemit always implied they are here for the long game so finding ways to keep the money in the platform is understandable.
